Lunchtime in Occidental Park
Spring has officially begun and if you haven't been out to Occidental Park yet for lunch, coffee or a meeting, you're missing out! Get outside and enjoy your Pioneer Square! Stay in the loop about park events and news by following Occidental Park on Facebook and treat yourself to some Vitamin D this April. You never know who you may meet or see while you're cruising around.


It's that time of the year again--Pioneer Square Spring Clean! 
Join your neighbors, co-workers, and community partners in sprucing up Pioneer Square! Breakfast snacks, coffee, tools, and t-shirts are provided.  All you need is a can-do attitude and be willing to get down in the weeds, literally.    
If you plan on bringing a team of volunteers from your business, apartment building, or community, please register at the link above and let Carl ( [email protected]) know so he can keep you grouped together.  
Sunflower seeds, hot dogs, peanuts and BASEBALL ... that's what spring is made of!

The Seattle Mariners Home Opener is Friday, 4/8, and its almost SOLD OUT! Don't miss the action this season at Safeco Field. Add their schedule to your calendar and follow your Seattle Mariners all season long on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Construction begins soon for the Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project and extends through fall 2017. This involves street and sidewalk closures, and detours of some transit routes. Stay up to date and check out the Seattle Department of Transportation's (SDOT) fact sheet on the project webpage: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/YeslerBridge.htm
 
SDOT has scheduled an open house to share details about the project on  Tuesday, 4/12, 4:00-6:30pm at the  Yesler Community Center, 917 E Yesler Way. 
A Warm & Sunny First Thursday  Art Walk

Mark your calendar! First Thursday Art Walk for April is only a few days away and the weather prediction 77 degrees and sunny skies!!! Invite your friends out for an evening of great art viewing in the historic Pioneer Square. The neighborhood offers FREE PARKING, 5:00pm-10:00pm at participating garages #1TParkFree. How we Art Walk

1. Walk, ride the new streetcar, bus, bike, or drive & park for free here in the neighborhood this Thursday, 4/7 at 5:00pm.

2. Taste your way around the Pioneer Square happy hours.

3. Walk off those nibble and sips while admiring the creative works of art displayed throughout the galleries & venues.

First Thursday Speaker Series at Milepost 31
The Great Fire: A Catalyst for Change
Thursday, April 7th,  6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
@ Milepost 31 , 211 First Ave. S., Seattle
 Admission is free.
 
Seattle's topography looks nothing like it did at the time of the Great Seattle Fire of June 6, 1889. Join  Page Olson , president of the Last Resort Fire Department, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, to rediscover the documented stories about this accidental and catastrophic event. Page will showcase how this incident became a convenient catalyst in the city's history, moving Seattle from its frontier logging town beginnings to the metropolitan city it is today. The Last Resort Fire Department, a non-profit 501(c)3, has spent the last 48 years restoring, preserving and displaying predominately Seattle Fire Department history.  

After the talk, be sure to leave enough time to explore the rest of the First Thursday Art Walk in Pioneer Square. Milepost 31 is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and stays open until 8 p.m. on First Thursdays.





Help neighborhood visitors and your customers find low-rate parking by spreading the word about

  The Alliance for Pioneer Square is partnering with WSDOT, the City of Seattle, Downtown Seattle Association and nearby parking garages to offer parking spaces for just $3/hour, up to four hours. A great option over circling for parking or feeding the meter.

Find It, Fix It!
Have you seen an issue in the neighborhood, but didn't know how to report it to get it taken care of? " Find It, Fix It" is a smartphone app offering mobile users one more way to report selected issues to the City of Seattle. Reporting an issue is as easy as snapping a photo with your smartphone, adding detailed information, and hitting submit.
 
Help us keep our neighborhood a clean and well maintained neighborhood. Be on the look out to report graffiti, potholes, abandoned cars and other issues through the 
Find it, Fix it app,   online or call 206-684-7587. 
 
If graffiti shows up on your property,  make a police report by calling 206-625-5011.
