Celebrating Supplier Diversity Month at ISM - New York
Corporate America has recognized that Sup
plier Diversity makes
good business sense, and we know that you do, too. Here are a few examples:
Dun & Bradstreet released a White Paper:
The Growing Business Imperative for Supplier Diversity. It states that Global brands are recognizing the strong potential for supplier diversity programs to help them grow their businesses - whether through increased market share among emerging customer bases, stronger share price, faster innovation cycles or more intangible measures such as brand awareness and loyalty.
The Billion Dollar Roundtable recognizes and celebrates leading corporations that achieved spending of at least $1 billion with minority and woman-owned suppliers. Members include AT&T, IBM Corporation, Microsoft, and other leading corporations. The BDR encourages corporate entities to continue growing their supplier diversity programs by increasing commitment and spending levels each year.
We invite you to celebrate Supplier Diversity by joining us for two great events on one day - April 14, 2016. The 2016 Annual Supplier Diversity Expo and Membership Meeting will take place on that day at BNY Mellon. This important event was made possible through the generous support of three exceptional companies, Interpublic Group, New York University, and BNY Mellon.
The ISM New York Supplier Diversity Committee has been working all year long to bring you this exceptional, can't miss event. Donna Georgio of HighRoad Press and Nirmal Goswamy of Neotecra are the 2016 Expo & Membership Meeting Co-Chairs.
The day will also include presentation of the
Outstanding Supplier Diversity Program Award during the Expo to recognize a Corporate Member who has demonstrated a commitment through innovative and effective contributions in the profession and the development of diverse suppliers. The Membership Meeting will feature an informative and engaging discussion from industry leaders around the theme of
The Competitive Advantage of Supplier Diversity.
I'd also like to share some of the other notable accomplishments of our passionate and highly engaged committee members this year.
In January Ines Eden of New York University and Andrea Sotomayor of National Grid presented the well attended Webinar program, Start or Grow: The Top 8 Strategies of a Successful Supplier Diversity Program.
Allison Kent of Atrium Staffing and Jill Davis Kone of the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council have interviewed and written insightful Supplier Diversity Focus Articles in quarterly issues of the Competitive Edge Newsletter.
