Jordon Boucher, Miss Wadsworth, and her sister, Wadsworth Ambassador Avery Boucher, assist a very young child with gathering Easter eggs for her colorful basket.

Easter Egg Hunt-

Our annual event was another big success with more children participating than ever before.  I'm no expert at estimating crowd size but I'm sure there were more than 500 youngsters snapping up 12,000 plastic eggs loaded with stuff that helps keep dentists in business.

Four separate areas were created based on age groups.  The first group, three years of age and under, took almost ten minutes to scoop up all the eggs.  The last group, ages ten and older, sped through 4,000 eggs so quickly I had no time to compose individual photos so I just turned on the camera's motor drive and pointed.

Mixed in with all those eggs were twelve special golden eggs, each containing a number for a unique prize such as a gift card.  In order to claim the prize, the plastic egg had to be "cracked"  to extract the winning number.

All twelve prizes were claimed, an amazing feat considering they were scattered throughout spacious Wadsworth Park.

As usual, our fabulous Wadsworth Queens pitched in to manage the affair.  In addition to Jordan and Avery as noted above, Junior Miss Wadsworth Ciara Robinson, and her sister, Little Miss Wadsworth Isabella Robinson, helped spread the eggs, assist the little kids, and handed out the prizes.

A big thanks goes out to Sharon Bertrand who helps run the Wadsworth Queens program and pageant. To find out more about this wonderful program, which helps turn young girls into young women, send an e-mail to the program's director at [email protected]
