After nearly six years with the WI CCC Program, Emily Reynolds has accepted a new position at the University of Wisconsin Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Emily has served many important roles at the WI CCC Program. She began working with the WI CCC Program as a Graduate Assistant in 2010 and eventually became Policy Coordinator for the WI CCC Program in 2014. Throughout her time with the WI CCC Program she has provided tremendous insight into the policy, systems and environmental change aspects of cancer control, particularly in prevention. Emily's passion and dedication for cancer prevention led to the formation of the  School Wellness Learning Collaborative and most recently to the  Healthy Hospitals and Clinics project. Emily also served as the staff liaison to the  WI Cancer Council Policy Committee, establishing and maintaining important relationships with organizations across the state to align and advance cancer control policy priorities in Wisconsin. Emily's last day at the WI CCC Program was April 1, 2016.

Emily has accepted the Project Manager position for the University of Wisconsin Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies where she will work in the Community and Alumni Relations unit to manage several Nelson Institute events and alumni relations. While we will greatly miss Emily's presence in the office and her commitment to accomplish any project at hand, we wish her the best in her future endeavors. Please join us in congratulating Emily on her accomplishments at the WI CCC Program and the achievements she will realize while working at the UW Nelson Institute.

National Healthcare Decisions Day, held annually on April 16th, aims to educate and empower the public  and healthcare providers about the importance of advance care planning. The initiative's goal it to provide clear, concise, and consistent information on healthcare decision making. Honoring Choices

The Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control Program is pleased to share a new infographic, " Improving End-of-Life Care for Cancer Patients: Promoting Advance Care Planning" in honor of NHDD on April 16th. The infographic can be used as an educational tool for implementing  Priority 11: Increase advance care planning found in the  WI Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2015-2020.  For more information about Priority 11 and advance care planning among cancer patients, consider joining the WI CCC Plan Priority Webinar featuring Priority 11: Increase advance care planning, scheduled on April 12, 2016 from 3 - 4 PM. Carrie Riccobono, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Breast Services at Froedtert Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Diagnostic Imaging was featured on the cover of the March Issue of ONS Connect, the official news magazine of the Oncology Nursing Society. Carrie is an active member of the  WI Breast Cancer Task Force and the  WI Cancer Council Policy Committee. In the article, Carrie offers insight on how her fellow oncology nurses can have their voice heard when it comes to advancing healthcare policy. Congratulations, Carrie!
