Last month, Southeast Institute for Group and Family Therapy hosted 19 people from Japan. They travel to Chapel Hill every year to learn redecision therapy and transactional analysis. This summer, Vann Joines, PhD, will travel to Japan to continue the training, which will result in the establishment of a redecision training program. This spring, he also will travel to Schenzen, China; Beijing, China; and Bangkok, Thailand, to conduct training.
If you are interested in learning more about redecision therapy, a powerful short-term therapy that quickly gets to the heart of the problem, you don't have to travel to Asia. This summer, July 25-30, we will offer the comprehensive week-long
Mastering Redecision Therapy workshop here in Chapel Hill.
Warm Regards,
Vann, Gary, Emily & Meredith

Couples Weekend
May 20-22
Don't give up before you know what's possible.
Three reasons to try the Couples Weekend:
1. Couples Therapy has Evolved!
Research about the brain and early attachment relationships has enhanced the art and science of couples therapy.
2. Patterns Repeat
You might think you are with the wrong person when in fact you are with a hurtful pattern. You can leave your partner, but you won't leave the pattern ... until you learn to change it. The only place to change a relational pattern is within a relationship. Why not this one?
3. Power in Numbers
The thought of doing couples therapy among other couples is often intimidating. In the end, we hear that it is inspiring! In addition to offering insight into your own relationship, having other couples present offers hope and gratitude. It also allows the therapists to use effective therapy techniques that can only be accomplished in a small group.

Epigenetics Presentations at the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology Annual Conference, June 2-5, 2016 | Santa Clara, CA
Epigenetics is the study of the effects of stress on our genes. It is
a burgeoning new area of science that is changing our understanding of emotions and behavior, sickness and illness. It is the study of
how stress, particularly in childhood, causes under-production or over-production of proteins. These alterations in protein production can produce many problems including cancer, autoimmune disorders and mental disorders. This alteration in protein production can be passed down through generations, and it can be relieved with the help of psychotherapy. New research is showing more and more how this can happen.
Epigenetics will be featured in two of the Conference keynote presentations. Drs. Lipton and Church are researchers and long-term friends of energy psychology

Energy Healing in Psychotherapy
With Gary Peterson, MD
July 22-24, 2016
Energy healing in psychotherapy is a family of treatments rooted in mind-body healing traditions that are over 4,000 years old.
