Women's Centre Annual General Meeting
 
We invite you to attend our annual general meeting!

All friends of the Women's Centre are welcome to attend. Come celebrate our successes and growth as women supporting communities and communities supporting women. 


Appetizers and refreshments will be served.


As spring approaches, our Direct Assistance program continues to provide services to our women. We are currently in need of shampoo for this program. Donations would be gratefully accepted.

The Mug Ran Away With the Spoon  
Do you have extra cutlery or cups you would like to donate to our kitchen at the Women's Centre? We are in need of gently used mugs and spoons. Help women start their mornings off right!

Kimmipipitsin, a Community Conversation
Join Enough for All's Aboriginal Advisory Committee for 'Kimmipipitsin, a Community Conversation' on April 20th at the Marlborough Community Hall from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. There will be opportunities for mingling and a fantastic assortment of local Indigenous vendors. Click here to register.

Save the Date: Kathleen Lahey
Join us on May 31st for an evening with Kathleen Lahey, Queen's National Scholar in the Faculty of Law at Queen's University. Lahey is an expert on law, taxation and gender. She recently released Equal Worth, a report on gender pay inequalities in Alberta, through the Parkland Institute. Keep an eye on our event calendar for updates.

City of Calgary Councillors Push for Child Care Spaces

Girls' Walk 

Come and hear what issues are important to girls right now! The Women's Centre's Girl Power program is partnering with the Starburst group at Georges P. Vanier to run our second annual Girl's Walk as part of the Jane's Walk weekend.
This girl-led walk is happening Friday May 6 at 6:30 pm open to people of all ages and genders. Start location TBA. RSVP for the walk here.

Getting to Know City Hall | Wednesday, April 6 (6-8 pm)
Join us for our monthly Social Issues Discussion evening, organized by the Social Issues Committee. Carol Armes, Executive Assistant to Ward 7 Councillor Druh Farrell, will explain how City Hall works and lead a discussion on how women can work with City Hall to seek and promote social justice.

Hula Dancing | Tuesday, April 7,14,21,28 (6-7pm)
We're teaming up with NahlaniDance Productions for a 4 week series exploring the basics of modern Hawaiian Hula Dance. No previous skill required. These workshops are for all skill levels and body types. Dress comfortably.

Tie-Dye T-Shirts | Wednesday April 13 (6-8 pm)
Twist, pleat and crumple your way to your very own '60s inspired tie-dye t-shirt. Learn different techniques to create different patterns while we talk about the history of tie-dye.
All materials are provided. Tie-dye can be messy, please wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. No children in this workshop please.
