Meet Scott McCullough
Jamie Staton's Mile 11 Virtual Running Partner

Scott McCullough was just eight-years-old when he first got involved with the Nashua Special Olympics program through his good friend Parker Thornton. More than 30 years later, McCullough credits his involvement with changing his life.

Not only does McCullough participate in year-round sports programming, but he serves as a global messenger for Special Olympics, sharing his story and information about upcoming opportunities on local television and radio stations and through speeches to groups around the state. He also served a term on the Special Olympics New Hampshire Board of Directors.

McCullough said involvement with Special Olympics has built his confidence and provided opportunities for him to share his strengths with others.

Right now, McCullough is working on gaining independence and learning independent living skills including house cleaning, laundry and cooking. He is also hoping to learn how to become a basketball coach for Special Olympics while still participating in bowling, cross-country skiing and athletics. McCullough is a wonderful example of how Special Olympics programming supports the success of athletes both on and off the playing field!
