This dissertation research was developed to fill a gap in performance-based knowledge of on-site wastewater treatment system function, especially the likelihood of system failure over lifetime operation.

Join Fabien as he presents his research entitled "A system approach to community development dynamic modeling: the case study of Namsaling, Nepal". His research aims to explore ways to increase our understanding of the underlying behavior of a developing community through the use of system thinking and dynamic modeling.

EDC Representative Election

The Mortenson Center is currently seeking candidates for the student representative on the leadership committee during the 2016-17 academic year. This position acts as a conduit of program information between students and the leadership group. If you would like to be considered for this elected position, please send  Robyn Sandekian  your name and a brief  statement (175 word maximum) describing your interest and participation in the program to date, as well as a convincing argument as to why your peers should vote you into this position.  Statements of interest are due by April 11 th and voting will open on the 12th.

The Mortenson Center has limited funds available to help offset the costs of current EDC Certificate students who are presenting papers or posters at professional conferences.  EDC students can apply for up to $300 to support their travel expenses by completing this application

CU-Boulder Doctoral Students Invited to Apply for Graduate Fellowship in Community-Based Research

CU Engage's one-of-a-kind Graduate Fellowship in Community-Based Research models a strategy for universities to prepare doctoral students for public scholarship. Whereas emerging scholars are often forced to make a choice - "either engage in the community or do peer-reviewed research" - this fellowship is designed to enable future scholars to build strong academic careers while working on public issues in partnership with community groups. In CBR, university researchers collaborate with people directly impacted by an issue to formulate a research project or creative project that examines an issue of public concern. ARPA-E Fellow Position

ARPA-E is looking for the next generation of scientific leaders to help solve the most pressing and exciting challenges in energy. The Fellows assist the agency in identifying possible breakthrough energy technologies through technical and economic analyses. During their two-year tenure, ARPA-E  Fellows influence the direction of American energy innovation,  engaging with world-class researchers in academia and industry, entrepreneurs, and government officials. The Level Market Internship
