Community Learning Series with David Meyerhof
Sunday, April 10, at 12:00pm

LAMOTH invites you for an afternoon of learning with Mr. Meyerhof, as he utilizes primary sources and poetry to present "Escape from Nazi Germany: Nobel Prize to Kindertransport."

David Meyerhof's family history includes both a Nobel Prize and perilous escapes from the Nazis in Germany and France during World War II. Inspired by his grandfather's tremendous medical achievements, and his family's escape with the assistance of American journalist Varian Fry, Mr. Meyerhof connects with his personal narrative and uses it to both inspire his poetry and educate the community.

SURVIVOR SPEAKER SERIES
Gitta Ginsberg
Sunday, April 3, at 2:00pm

Gitta Ginsberg, photo by David Miller
Gitta was barely a year old when her family fled their home in Austria for Belgium. They lived in relative safety until Nazi Germany invaded Belgium in May 1940. A Christian woman offered to hide Gitta in her apartment, where she had to conceal her Jewish identity. She later moved to a Catholic orphanage, where she remained until the Allied liberation of Belgium in 1944. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1952.

You can see artifacts reflecting Gitta's experiences in our weekly Survivor Speaker micro-exhibit, located near the front desk.

A docent-led tour of the Museum will immediately follow.
The Righteous Conversations Project is made possible through generous support from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, the Righteous Persons Foundation, The Erwin Rautenberg Foundation, The Michael & Irene Ross Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, and the Winnick Family Foundation.
