Piper nigrum seeds/plants wanted
BGANZ Victoria Network meeting presentation.

Lesley Sharon Rosenthal, Volunteer Writer for Volunteering Victoria reports on the Botanic Gardens Australia and New Zealand (BGANZ) Vic network meeting volunteering presentation by Sue Noble.

Piper nigrum seeds or plants wanted

The Diversify Mackay Leadership Alliance Agricultural Pillar Group is trying to source Piper nigrum seeds or plants for a trial to grow pepper in the Mackay region.

Does any Botanic Garden in Australia and/or New Zealand have Piper nigrum?
Brisbane BG has already assisted but are unable to meet all our needs.

If seeds or plants are available would it also be possible to ascertain the seed provenance.

New BGCI Resource

Following a planning and development process spanning more than two years, we are delighted to announce the launch of the first two instalments of BGCI’s new botanic garden resource From Idea to Realisation - BGCI’s Manual on Planning, Developing and Managing Botanic Gardens (2016).

Building on the earlier Darwin Technical Manual for Botanic Gardens (Leadlay and Greene, 1998), BGCI’s new botanic garden manual is a direct response to the growing importance, sophistication and complexity of the international botanic garden community over the last two decades.
