Did You Know?
Passover retells the story of the great miracle of the Israelites finding a way to overcome their oppression. With the protection and guidance of God, they made a better life and had big hopes for their future.
I want to introduce to you a wonderful program in Israel named "Sulamot." By using the miracle of music, Sulamot gives hope and a future to Israeli "at risk" children living in lower economic homes and environments. See how the gift of an instrument helps to bring peace, thoughtfulness and most importantly hope.

Spring is finally here! As we clean out those winter cobwebs (and crumbs), we welcome the flowers and get ready to celebrate the Jewish Festival of Freedom, Passover.
Passover, or Pesach in Hebrew, commemorates the Jewish people's freedom from slavery in Egypt. It is customary to have a festive Passover meal called a Seder on the first and second night of the holiday. Seder means order, and wherever Jewish people live, the Seder has the same elements, yet each one is tailored to family customs and traditions.
Before our Passover prep begins, it's time to roll up our sleeves and do a good deed for those in need. Join us at Gesher Jewish Day School on Sunday April 10 at 1 pm for Good Deeds Day. There are projects for even the littlest volunteers, so please stop by.
Finally, be sure to check out the box on the left-hand column for some Passover resources including explanations and tips on how to celebrate the holiday. If there are any other resources we can help you locate, please don't hesitate to ask.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Passover
Seder is a celebration of freedom, commemorating the Jewish people's release from slavery in Egypt. We'll have a kid-friendly, relaxed, mock (practice) Seder as we read PJ Library books, haggadahs (seder books) and learn about the purpose of
Passover while
singing songs, saying prayers, drinking grape juice, and understanding the symbols of the holiday.
Free event for families with kids of all ages. Help make charoset (chopped fruit and nuts) and bring some home for the holiday!
