 Relay After Hours

I would like to personally thank everyone who came out and supported the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life with our Cornhole Tournament on March 19th. It was a great success! We are hosting a "Relay after Hours" networking event here in Manistee on April 28 in order to get more local businesses involved in Manistee's Relay for Life.

 Relay for Life
Cornhole Tournament a Success
|
Last month Dr. Shrink hosted a charity Cornhole Tournament fundraiser with local Manistee Moose Lodge No. 1128 for Relay for Life. There were 23 teams that came and competed for the chance to win a gold, silver or bronze corncob trophy in the double elimination tournament. The first place team also won $200.00 cash with second place winners receiving $100.00.
"We talked to some of the people in the area and they said we should do and indoor bags (cornhole) tournament because some of them wanted to play, so that's where the idea came from," said Melissa Spoor, HR Manager at Dr. Shrink. The event had a full concession stand, beverages, silent auction, and other giveaways for the players and spectators with all proceeds going towards the Relay for Life. Over $2,600 was raised. Dr. Shrink is hoping to do another tournament at the Relay for Life on July 30th in Manistee, MI or in the late fall or winter.
Mike Stenberg, Dr. Shrink President/CEO enjoyed the tournament and stated, "We at Dr. Shrink are well pleased with the excellent turnout at our first annual cornhole tournament. The teams had a great time while the final tally for Relay for Life was just shy of $2,700.00. Of course we had plenty of volunteers and sponsors to make the program come together. Thanks to everyone!"

Dr. Shrink has added a couple new products to help with moisture control in your shrink wrap covers. If you are in an area that is very humid, have an object that is prone to moisture buildup, or shipping large equipment or containers, you may want to look into using some of our mildew and moisture control products for added protection.
The ProGARDO Corrpack-2 (DS-PROCAP) is a VCI
capsule that is designed for long term corrosion protection of closed areas up to 10 cubic feet and 5 years. It also absorbs
chloride and sulfide gases. They have a self-adhesive bottom for easy application.
The ProGARDO CargoPack 300 (DS-PROCDRI) are desiccant units with special characteristics of 300%
+ absorption rate and polymer encapsulated. They will reduce the risk of breakage and spill on cargo, and do not leak after full absorption. Each bag protects 90 cubic feet and only takes 15 units to fully cover a 20' container to eliminate moisture from forming.

New Product - DeBond Marine Formula Adhesive Remover

Always looking for new products and ways to help customers, Dr. Shrink is excited to announce a new product to their line, DeBond Marine Formula adhesive remover.
DeBond Marine Formula is a specialty mixture that cleans and debonds adhesives and sealants used on and inside the boat. You can use the formula to clean-up and remove many common marine adhesives including; most cured and uncured
polyurethane and polysulfide adhesives, shrink wrap adhesive, decal and tape film, gaskets, seals, caulks, silicone rubber, and chewing gum on carpet and much more.
It will not harm Gelcoat, Clear Coat, PlexiGlass, AwlGrip® or Imron®.
The DeBond Marine Formula comes in 4 oz. spray bottles- you can buy individual bottles or by the case (12 bottles per case).

#TeamMaverick Gets Wrapped Up
|
Team Maverick, taking a new approach to yacht racing, designed to be a little different.
Team Maverick is a yacht racing team that is looking to show the world, both professional and amateur sailors, that anyone can compete and win on the international circuit in yacht racing.
"We're taking new approaches and will be learning to sail with never before used DSS on the 46R, which should make us (the yacht) incredibly fast." Team Maverick is not just doing all this work to keep to themselves, they want to share what they are learning to inspire the next generation of Mavericks.
Currently, Team Maverick is on the road to France hauling the Team Maverick Yacht. They used Dr. Shrink shrink wrap to make sure that it was all protected for the long trip. Team Maverick said they wanted to use shrink wrap, "to protect the hull paintwork, keep the dirt out of the boat and to look after the spare and standing rigging as she is shipped by land and ferry from Istanbul to St. Tropez."
