A Message from the CEO

The numbers are in for 2015 and it proved to be another record year for membership growth, loan demand, and the total number of products and services enjoyed by our members.

We are pleased that you continue to choose us to help you meet your financial needs and we want to do everything that we can to encourage you to continue to do so in 2016 and beyond.

Our greatly expanded credit card program offers you every possible choice from low rates, to cash back, to rewards.  Additionally, none of our cards carry an annual fee and our balance transfer rates are good for the life of the balance transferred.

Our new and used auto loan rates continue to be the lowest in the country and our Write Your Own Ticket program continues to garner nationwide attention.  In the next few weeks, we will also roll out a lease-like program for those of you who prefer to lease your vehicles.

If the improving housing market has you thinking about buying a new home or improving your current home, we offer a wide variety of mortgage and home equity options.

Our mobile app is getting rave reviews for its ease of use and functionality.

More and more of you are utilizing our Financial Planning and Education Center for all of your insurance, financial planning, and debt management needs.

These are the reasons why we come to work every day and we consider it an honor to be able to continue to provide you with these valuable products and services as you provide us with the peace of mind that you are protecting the citizenry and businesses of the city of Chicago.

We will continue to do everything that we can to support you and clearly demonstrate our appreciation for your business.

Thank you for your loyalty and support!

Scott Arney

Police Week is May 15 - 21, 2016

We're looking forward to celebrating Police Week and honoring our brave men and women in blue all week!  In addition to some surprises (good ones!), we will be hosting a hot dog lunch for members of CPD at CPFCU Headquarters (1407 W. Washington Blvd.) on Monday, May 16, from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m., as well as creating a special limited-edition supply of Police Week 2016 gifts for members of the Chicago Police Department who visit our teller stations at each branch all week.  That week, and every day of every week, we cannot thank you enough for taking care of us, our families and our communities.

Three Key Things To Know About This Limited Time Offer

1. When Does the Rate Expire?
While the Balance Transfer promotion ends soon, the Balance Transfer rate does not expire!  The entire balance that you transfer over will stay at the promotional rate until you finish paying it off.

2. What About Fees?
All of our cards feature no annual fees and no balance transfer fees, making this Balance Transfer promotion an outstanding opportunity to save!

3. What Will I Pay For New Purchases?
You will pay a standard, non-variable rate for any new purchases that you make with your CPFCU Credit Card.  All rates are highly competitive and we pride ourselves on offering a non-variable credit card rate that won't change month-to-month.

The sooner you switch, the sooner you save!

If you already have a CPFCU Credit Card, you can begin a balance transfer by contacting our Call Center at 312-726-8814, or by stopping in to any branch.

If you don't have a CPFCU Credit Card yet, you can apply online at cpdfcu.com, or by contacting our Call Center at 312-726-8814.

*Additional restrictions may apply.
Financial Spring Cleaning Checklist

As the weather warms up, it's a great time to do some spring cleaning. Don't forget to tidy up your financial affairs while you're at it!
  1. Check your credit for free by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com  Your free report will not include your score, but it will allow you to review everything that's being reported.  Be sure to dispute anything that's being listed incorrectly.  CPFCU can help you with the dispute process.
  2. Review any bills that you have set up to automatically renew.  Do you have a gym membership that you never use or a premium music streaming service that you never log into?  Cancel anything that you don't use.
  3. Review your insurance coverage.  Make sure that the coverage you have matches your current assets and concerns.
  4. Make sure that your contact information and beneficiary listings are up to date on all accounts.

As your credit union, we look forward to assisting you in any way we can.  As you know, our Financial Planning and Education Center offers insurance, financial planning assistance and complimentary credit counseling.  If you need any assistance with the tasks above, please feel free to contact us at 312-726-8814.

Norma Aguirre

My name is Norma Aguirre and April marks my one year anniversary at Chicago Patrolmen's Federal Credit Union! I am a Call Center Representative, which has given me the opportunity to learn a lot about the Credit Union and its offerings in a short amount of time. I have previous experience in the mortgage industry, which prepared me for the detail-oriented nature of my position. I enjoy helping people and always try to get to the root of all issues so they don't continue to occur.

Many people are surprised to find out that I'm the youngest of ten kids! All but two are still in the Chicago area and we get together every month for breakfast. I love being part of such a tight-knit family. Even when we were young, we always stuck together and looked out for one another.

I hope my two kids have a similar bond through their lifetimes. They are my proudest achievements. Both of my children are doing work that they enjoy and I'm proud to say that I helped my daughter graduate from college. I made a deal with her that I would pay half of her tuition, but only if she completed her degree! My four-year-old granddaughter is the apple of my eye. She goes to a dual-language school and it's such a treat to chat with her in both English and Spanish.

When I'm not spending time with my family, I enjoy baking and crafting. I love to work with my hands and be creative!

I'm excited to take on new duties and expand my career at Chicago Patrolmen's Federal Credit Union.
