Easter Morning at Resurrection!
What a wonderful day! Starting with the new fire of Easter at the early Vigil, and continuing through to the last strains of the Tocatto of the Festival Eucharist we celebrated the culmination of and extraorinary Holy Week, ending with our annual Easter Egg hunt and a feast. Here you see the congregation in the second service, with the Baptismal Font ready for the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.
Good Friday
A contemplative service that included music from the Balcones String Quartet alone, and accompanying the choir.
Practicing Agape
Early evening onThursday, we enjoyed what has become a new tradition, our Agape meal in the Narthex, just before the Maundy Thursday Service in the Nave. In it, we celebrate and practice the love that we have for each other as Christian sisters and brothers.
Wednesday Evening Prayer
This quiet service at the end of the day was a time of strength and exploration as we contemplated the senses of the desert, the feelings that we might encounter during the searching season of Lent.

The Apostles' Creed
This Creed is considered the ancient formula of Christian belief, organized into three sections: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Its authorship is attributed to the apostles, but opinions vary regarding its origins.
The Creed's title dates from the late 4th Century, and it may be based on a shorter form of a creed in use in Rome in the 2nd Century. It can be considered an authentic expression of the apostolic faith.
It contains twelve articles which form the basis of the Baptismal Covenant, and it is recited or read as part of the Daily Office. We have used it recently as part of our Lenten Wednesday Evening Prayer. We renewed our Baptismal Vows at Sunday's Baptism, reflecting its contents. The Creed is found on page 53 of the Book of Common Prayer.

Thanks to the volunteer crew who worked on Holy Saturday to make the church sparkle: Holly & Charles Davis, Linda Bryant, Reba & Granville Ott, Dan Prikryl, Pat Mills, Helen & Mile Paulsen. (And of course, Ann, herself!)
We need to give the Easter lillies a home. So take one or more home with you, and if you can give a suggested $12 donation for their purchase, that would really help. They add so much to the altar at Eastertide.

Labels for Down Home Ranch

Labels for Education has announced that due to a decline in the activity of the program they are bringing the program to a close. We have until the end of August to collect as many "Labels" as we can for Down Home Ranch. The Collection Box will be placed in the Narthex by the bulletin board for your convenience in placing the Labels in it. We will be able to get a VISA CARD for the Ranch so they can use it to purchase items for their new conference center. The Daughters of The King, in our Providence VII, are also helping to collect these Labels.
Please help us to gather as many Labels as we can.

Dudley Baker Announces Post-Easter Blood Drive
On Saturday, April 9th, we are having our first 2016 blood drive. What better time to offer the gift that can save a life than in Easter, the season of new life -- Resurrection Life. That is what we celebrate every day around here. May we work hard this year to transform the words Resurrection Life to Resurrection Blood!
We need the help of every one of you, who gives regularly. Help us publicize this ministry. Tell another member how fulfilling it is to help an unknown person in need -- perhaps to save a life! Tell them how quick and easy it is. Remind them that blood is a precious substance, that comes only from one source -- the arm of a healthy, grateful servant with 40 minutes to spare. You can even tell them how good the cookies are!

Wednesday Bible Study Continues
Wednesday morning Bible Study continues from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Genuine Joe's Coffee House at 2001 W. Anderson Lane. The Bible students have studied a lot of the scripture so far, and will continue on. They have finished their study of the Gospel According to John and have begun the study of the Acts of the Apostles.
