A lot of hard work has gone into making this salon a success, but we know we would still be in that two-room shop on the corner if it weren't for our loyal clients. Twenty years and three locations later, the Genesis family is thriving, and we'd like to celebrate! Cheers to you!

Celebrating their 20th Anniversary tomorrow, April 1, Genesis Hair Salon has been the preferred beauty stop for many in our
 community.
On April 1, 1996 Dawn Hastings opened a one room shop, armed with two chairs, a couple of pairs if scissors and a whole
lot of ambition. In those years Dawn has recruited five more master stylists: Karla Adams, Angie Pence, Joan Cruttenden, Mary Bell, Wendy Thompson and collectively they have over 100 years of experience behind the chair. Known for their incredible hair styling, the women of Genesis have been able to create and customize haircuts, colors, texturizing, smoothing systems, and facial hair removal, just to name a few.
Currently located at 430 W Main St., Suite 101 the salon has relocated three times since its inception. Three and half yours ago the salon moved from the North end of the by-pass into what the Heart of Danville hopes is its final location.
"We moved here from the by-pass and are absolutely happy to be here. Most all of our clients live or work downtown and are pleased with our relocation as well," said Hastings.
With an ever increasing clientele due to the great word of mouth  advertising from their many happy clients the salon is primarily appointment only. However, if they have time, and the openings, they always try their best to accommodate walk-ins and waiting lists.
"Between all of us we enjoy everything about Danville. One if not two of us are always participating in events happening in Danville. We feel we fit in really well with all of the other businesses downtown," said Hasting. The Heart of Danville is excited to have the women of Genesis as part of our downtown community.
On April 1, 2016 Genesis Hair Salon will be hosting an open house as a thank you to their loyal friends and family. They have invited their clients and friends to join them at the salon for refreshments, prizes and good conversation. For more information on the open house, visit here.
