April 11 – 15 Branch Pick-Up
|
|
All branches should be at the curb
by 7 a.m. on April 11 with the cut end toward the street, being mindful to keep the walking path as clear as possible. Maximum branch size is 10 inches in diameter. No brush, stumps or other yard debris will be collected. Anyone living near a GCA Common Area is invited to help out by bringing fallen branches to the curb.
There will be one pass per residence and each Common Area by the GCA contractor. Please be ready!

Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: April 1-2
|
|
The next Household Hazardous Waste Special Collection event will be held at the RSWA Ivy Material Utilization Center, 4576 Dick Woods Road Charlottesville, VA 22903 (Take the Ivy exit 114. Turn left at bottom of exit ramp stop sign. Go 3.2 miles southwest on Rt. 637. Material Utilization Center will be on the right.)

Amnesty Days will be held at Ivy Material Utilization Center on the following dates from 8:30am - 4pm each day:

Service is available to Albemarle County and Charlottesville residents only. Normal tipping fees will be charged to residents for all non-amnesty items brought on these days. Also, please note the Ivy facility will accept all above items during normal operation. Contact RSWA (295-3306) regarding tipping fees for the above items.

Representatives of GCA look forward to meeting our new neighbors at the traditional Welcome Reception to be held on April 9th in conjunction with Glenmore Country Club. Invitees include those who have recently moved in, families planning to close on their property soon and those who have not been able to previously attend our last reception held in September. A total of 35 invitations have been sent.

Vacancies on Standing Committees
|
|
In 2015, 59 people served on one or more standing committees, ad hoc committees, the Scottish Homes, the Bremerton Cottages and the Glenmore Farm Equestrian Boards.
Current Vacancies:
Budget and Finance - Applicants should have budget experience and familiarity with Excel, and ideally QuickBooks software.

Water Resources – Candidates should demonstrate background with any of the following: ponds and dams, storm water systems, surface water control
Common Area Review Board (CARB) - CARB is looking for people with school age children to serve on this committee to help plan the newly acquired Soccer Field.

Dog owners are reminded that according to Albemarle County regulations and our own Glenmore Covenants and Restrictions, when your dog is off of your property, they must be totally under your control which usually means a leash. Prolonged barking of your dog is a signal that he/she is unhappy and a disturbance to all of your neighbors, especially now that spring has sprung and our windows are open.

When asked for an update as to the current status of the Rivanna Village project, Mr. Andrew Boninti replied:
“I understand that there is some confusion in the Glenmore community as to when we will start construction. We had hoped to start in March, but this is the development business, which means nothing starts on time. We are finalizing our deal with a builder and crossing t's and dotting i's on our development loan. In addition, we decided to get a few additional bids on the site work, and those final numbers didn't come in until a few weeks ago. All normal course of business stuff for people in our industry. Please assure the community that the project is on sound financial footing, and before the Fall shovels will be in the ground."

In 2015:
- 835 lots have been platted.
- 90% of the platted lots have homes built on them.
- 12 new homes were approved by the ARB for construction
- 31 existing homes were purchased by new owners
- 7 undeveloped lots changed hands.
- 927 is the projected number of total platted lots in Glenmore
