Hello Ladies:

Spring is in the air, and we have a lot of exciting information to share with you! This week and next week are two of our biggest weeks of the year! Registration opens for Queen of the Hill & the Fabulous Friday Night 5K, our club t-shirts and tech shirts are ready for pick-up, and SPRING workouts start on April 4th.  See below for details on all this and more:

QOTH2016
Queen of the Hill Triathlon/Duathlon

Registration for Queen of the Hill (QOTH) opens Friday, April 1st at 6 AM to all MHWTC members (you should have received an VIP invite email with a personalized link) and at noon to the general public.  This year, QOTH will be held Saturday, June 25th at Lake Gilman and will offer both Sprint and Olympic distances along with a Duathlon.  

QOTH is our premier club event and typically sells out fast.   Everyone that registers on April 1st for QOTH will receive a $5 discount off their Fabulous Friday Night 5k registration!

All participants will be treated like royalty including free hair braiding and a regal brunch. Age group finishers will proudly wear their tiara's and the Queen... well it will just be her day!  Click HERE to register for QOTH on April 1st.

FAB5K
The Fabulous Friday Night 5K  

Registration for this very popular club event will open on Friday, April 8th at 6 AM. The Fabulous Friday Night 5K will be held on June 3rd and will start and end at Wenonah Swim Club.  

Fab 5k Course is a simple out and back through the beautiful streets of Wenonah, and we will also be offering our WILDLY popular family/friends 5K relay. The relay will consist of  2-3  family/friends (each running one mil, and they also have to create their own baton.  Last year we had footballs, hockey sticks, barbie dolls and even actual babies (in strollers)!

Help us raise awareness for bike safety in our community and fund for icanshine!  All the details can be found here on our website!  This is open to men and women!

  • Broad Street Bus - $10 per person.  Bus leaves at 6 AM from Kingsway High School and takes runners to the start of the Broad Street Run then returns them home at 12:00 noon.
  • Volunteer Opportunities - We LOVE our volunteers!  Click below to see the various ways you can help ranging from leading bike rides to volunteering at an event: Tour de Safety, Fabulous Friday Night 5K, Queen of the Hill and Fall Duathlon.  You do not need to be a member of our club to volunteer!  Great for girl scouts, CCD or NHS hours as well!

Spring Workouts 2016

All of our workouts will start on April 4th!  Spring workouts will run for six weeks.   Thank you to everyone who has offered to help and for all of you who have already signed up!  Everything is listed below is on the Sign Up Genius:

  • Monday- $5/5K 
  • Tuesday- Queen of the Hill Ride 
  • Wednesday- Boot Camp in the Park 
  • Wednesday- Rode's Ride 
  • Thursday- Botto's Ride 
  • Saturday- Action Wheels Ride 
  • Sunday- MHWTC club ride- slow and casual OR 70.3 

In addition, we will are offering SIX- 60 minutes of walking, jogging or running at 6:00 am for 6 weeks AND Riverwinds- Session 3 just started this week!  Still spots available, especially on the weekends!

Finally, last but certainly not least, we would like to Congratulate Dina Strachan and the Teen Tri girls for recently being awarded a $3000 grant from USAT! Thank you to the members of the MHWTC Grant Committee that made this possible.   These funds will go towards a summer of education, workouts and fun for the 30+ teenagers we have in our club.
