Cobb County Assembling List of Potential Park Properties |
Deadline in April 15th
|
Thanks to the tireless work of greenspace advocates, Cobb County has begun compiling a list of properties to be purchased with bond proceeds approved by the voters in 2008, before the Great Recession. While the amount of funds available is still uncertain, the process is under way. Your help is needed to make sure potential property in Mableton and South Cobb is considered.
You have the power to increase our greenspace, provide wellness trails, promote our community spirit, and make Mableton a destination for new families and companies.
Click here and go to Cobb PARKS where you can nominate a property that you think would be a wonderful addition to our community and preserve greenspace.
Please nominate your prospective park by April 15th!

Zoning Update |
Completed in March...
|
The application for the KOK warehouse at
281 Veterans Memorial Highway (Z-14) to be rezoned from Office/Storage to Light Industrial is also expected to be heard on April 1st. The MIC Board voted to remain neutral, so long as the appearance of the property is improved and the zoning category can remain Office/Storage, with exceptions for several specific uses.
Coming up in May...
An application has been filed for
residential senior living (supported) at
4426 and 4436 Floyd Road (Z-39). The plan is for 104 units in a multistory building, with activities and services for residents 55 and older. MIC has met with the applicant and talked with nearby residents as well.
Elite Auto Collision has re-filed an application to allow them to use
380 Veterans Memorial Highway for their auto body repair business. MIC will talk with the attorney handling this case to learn of any updates since the previous application was withdrawn.
