It is time once again to praise the Lord in song and deed!  The Psalm 150 Gospel Choir is proud to present its 32nd Annual Youth and Young Adult Gospel Music Retreat.  The theme for this year's retreat is "APPS-Actively Preparing People Spiritually" Ephesians 6:12 - 13.  The retreat will be held July 21 - 23, 2016 on the campus of Lamar University.  The musical will be held at the Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church located at 710 IH-10 East, Beaumont, TX on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.  We are extending an invitation to all children ages 8 - 12  and youth  ages 13 - 18 to participate. 

What is the Purpose of this Retreat?

A gospel music retreat designed to enhance the music ability of youth and young adult choir members & musicians through teaching vocal techniques, directing, choir & solo singing, directing, keyboard, drums, praise dance, informative seminars, but most importantly the word of God.

Statement of Understanding

• It is my understanding that the Psalm 150 Youth and Young Adult Gospel Music Retreat is a meeting of young Christians and that I am expected to maintain a Christian attitude at all times.
• It is my understanding that I am expected to take part in all activities of the Retreat.
• It is my understanding that participating in the Retreat is a “privilege” and not a “right”.  Participants participate at the invitation of the Retreat Director and the Retreat Director reserves the right to deny future invitations to anybody who fail to cooperate with the retreat program or who fail to conduct themselves in a Christian manner.
• It is my understanding that if I stay on campus for the retreat; I am not allowed to leave the campus without written permission from the Retreat Housing Director.
• I understand that this is a Christian function and as a participant, I am mandated to dress appropriately.  If I am found in violation, I will change my attire.  Public school dress code will be enforced.

REGISTRATION

• All participants who are staying on campus must register by July 10, 2016.  (We have room for 90 students in the dormitory, once they are filled no more dormitory registration will be accepted).
• To register on-line click the "Register Now!" link below or please send registration form along with a money order or cashier’s check or church check for the fees applicable to our P.O. Box.  No personal checks will be accepted.
• Onsite registration for retreaters not staying on campus will begin July 21, 8:00 a.m. in the Campbell Hall, 850 Iowa St. No one will be allowed to sign up for Dormitory space on that day.  www.cardinalvillage-lamar.com
• You must be at least 8 years old to participate.
• Registration form must be signed by a parent/guardian.

HOUSING

• Dormitory space is available for anyone desiring to stay on campus.  The cost is $40.00 per night/per person ($80.00 for two nights). Note those who register after July 10, the cost is $55.00 per night/person ($110.00 for two nights) and highly dependent on room availability.
• Dormitory Check-in will start at 8:00 a.m. on July 21 in Campbell  Hall, 850 Iowa St. Beaumont, TX 77710.
• Check out time for the Dormitory is at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.  Parents must pick up your things by 2:00 p.m.
•  Anyone planning to stay on campus must bring the following items: sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, shower curtain, soap, 7 or more changes of clothes.
• If you lose your key, the cost will be $100.00 due prior to the end of the retreat.
  

DINING FACILITES (FOOD)

• All students will eat on campus.  There will be no off campus dining!
• For your convenience, you may purchase a meal card.  All meals are ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT.  The cost of the meal card is $45.00.

Retreat officers

Do you plan to seek office?  The successful candidate for one of the executive board positions must have attended at least one previous retreat, an active member of a church and have at least one more year in High School.  Check one of the following:

• President
• Vice-President 
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Chaplain
• Musician/Director

Retreat scholarship

The Retreat offers two $200 scholarships annually in memory of deceased alumni of the Psalm 150 Gospel Choir.  Candidates for the Retreat Scholarships must meet all of the following:

• Must have attended at least one previous retreat.
• Must be an active member of a church.  Must have a letter from their Pastor or Youth Director.
• Must graduate from high school in May or June of this year.
• Must submit a copy of their high school transcript no later than July 21, 2016
