The Aircraft Electronics Association unveiled the dates and locations for its 2016 AEA Connect conferences. AEA Connect is the new name for what was formerly known as the AEA Regional Meetings. The 2016 AEA Connect schedule is as follows:

The first AEA Connect conference takes place Jan. 26-27 in Cologne, Germany, and registration is now available online at

. Exhibitors and attendees who plan to participate should note that it is scheduled earlier than in previous years. The Hyatt Regency Cologne will serve as the site for the event, and hotel reservations must be made by Dec. 25.

 Early-bird Registration for AEA Convention Expires Jan. 8
Registration has opened for the general aviation avionics industry's premier event of the year, the 59th annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show, which takes place April 27-30 in Orlando, Florida. Early-bird registration is now open through Jan. 8. Registration rates for AEA member companies are as follows:
- Early-bird (before Jan. 8): $590
- Advance (Jan. 9 to April 1): $650

Opinion: The Business of Labor
Ric Peri, AEA vice president of government and industry affairs, writes in this month's Avionics News that he often is asked the question, "Does the avionics industry have the necessary resources to satisfy the pending demand?" Peri responds that he is tired of the question and emphatically answers, "Of course we do, and if we don't, we will find the resources."

The city of Cologne, Germany, will serve as the host site for the AEA Europe Connect conference on Jan. 26-27, 2016.
Formerly known as the AEA Regional Meetings, AEA Connect is a two-day conference where repair stations, manufacturers, regulators and educators come together to do business. The event offers a networking venue with regulatory and technical training sessions and an exhibit hall filled with the latest avionics technologies and services. The deadline to make hotel reservations is Dec. 25.

WOMEN IN AVIATION, INTERNATIONAL selected the 2015 inductees
into its International Pioneer Hall of Fame: the Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training Program Class 77-08; BRENDA E. ROBINSON; and GEN. JANET C. WOLFENBARGER. In addition, the organization received a $7,500 grant from the International Society of Transport Aircraft Training Foundation, which funds educational programs that advance commercial aviation.
MADISON CAPITAL announced its avionics financing program aimed at assisting commercial aircraft owners in financing aircraft upgrades and new avionics. Madison's program is designed to provide immediate access to financing for all aircraft upgrades while the NextGen GA Fund, of which Madison Capital is a NEXA Capital financing partner, undergoes final stages of the FAA approval process.
AVIONICA selected Satmetrix NPX for managing and improving the customer experience as it builds a broader foundation for the next phase of the company's growth.
LATITUDE TECHNOLOGIES received Transport Canada CAN-TSO-C159b approval of the company's DL150 SDU (Satellite Data Unit) built to Technical Standing Order C159b "Next Generation Satellite Systems (NGSS) equipment."

TRIG AVIONICS said that a Trig transponder and radio will be on board a Tiger Moth biplane when AMANDA HARRISON attempts to recreate AMY JOHNSON's epic flight of 1930. Harrison will attempt to become the first woman since Johnson to fly a Tiger Moth from England to Australia.
MAXCRAFT AVIONICS received FAA validation of its Transport Canada STC SH04-41 (FAA STC SR03573NY) for installation of the Garmin GNS or GTN series
navigators in the Sikorsky S76A/C series of rotorcraft.
BANYAN AIR SERVICE named MATTHEW SCHEPERS director of MRO sales and GREGORY LAABS director of MRO services.
FLIGHTSAFETY INTERNATIONAL said a Cessna Citation Sovereign simulator will be installed at FlightSafety's Learning Center in Atlanta, Georgia. It is currently located in Orlando, Florida. In addition, TRENT J. CORCIA was promoted to manager of the company's Learning Center in Orlando, Florida.
THOMAS GLOBAL SYSTEMS signed an agreement with Saab AB in relation to Thomas Global's TFD-8601 LCD cockpit display, a plug-and-play LCD replacement for aging CRT displays in corporate and regional aircraft including the Saab 340.
WEST STAR AVIATION had its first 8C inspection on a Bombardier Global Express aircraft in the works at the Grand Junction, Colorado, location. 8C is an intense 120-month interval inspection that requires specialized tooling to perform. The company also was authorized by the Venezuelan government to maintain and repair Venezuelan-registered aircraft at its Columbia, South Carolina, location.
ROCKWELL COLLINS said that Aviator Airport Alliance sites in Norway have gone live with the company's ARINC AviNet Enterprise Hub messaging service. In addition, as part of a contract with Lockheed Martin Commercial Flight Training, Rockwell Collins' integrated visual systems will be featured on two Airbus A320 full flight simulators that will be based at Airbus's new training centers in Mexico City, Mexico.
BLUE AVIONICS' BA-440 system was certified by Safran Engineering Services and Duncan Aviation on their jointly developed FAA ADS-B Out DO-260B STC for CL601-3A/R aircraft.
ASTRONICS CORP. said its newest enhanced vision system, the Max-Viz 1400, has been installed on five Beechcraft King Air aircraft for the South Eastern Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.
CUTTER AVIATION finalized the purchase of Atlantic Aviation's FBO at Phoenix, Deer Valley (Arizona) Airport. During the consolidation, Cutter will operate from both facilities (Cutter and former Atlantic) as a provider of FBO services at Deer Valley Airport.
