My New Assistant ... Morgan

Heather completed her last day with me on Thursday ... she is now on to a wonderful adventure in Oklahoma.  We'll miss her ... but can follow her exploits along with Andrew, their three cats, and her Cockatiel on Facebook.

Morgan starts tomorrow ... Saturday!!  She comes to me with a very interesting background, as her mom is a hairstylist ... as is also her younger sister!  But perhaps more interesting is that she is a registry labor & delivery RN at both Mission Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  She will continue to work as a nurse on the days she is not with me.  A great arrangement.

I look forward to each of you having the chance to meet and spend time with her.  Morgan is fully prepared to make the most of her time with me, as we get ready for Sarah to join me in October/November.

Happy winter ... stay dry,

The Latest From the Salon
Recent Images ... Artistic Variations

Katherine . . . this really captures the "roaring twenties" feel in a very modern approach.  And no one wears it better than Katherine!

By over-exposing the original shot and then over dialing the contrast during processing, I was able to create this wonderful image which is totally "cover worthy".  It is a real keeper.

Caroline . . . perhaps you have followed her journey from Jet Black (for years!) to Purple ... and now to Nordic Blonde.  This is the latest incarnation as we have edged closer to a well balanced even blonde, after the difficult and damaging process of getting the black out.

For Caroline, as much as she loves the color and the dramatic statement it makes, it does have a downside which would not occur to her before hand.  The challenge is that it makes her feel she must wear make-up all the time.  And for the true "natural" that she is ... that IS a problem, because time is of the essence as she runs out the door in the mornings to work.  We'll see how this plays itself out as she considers her options.

This too is an artistic image where the result is as much created by the original photography as the processing after.  Another keeper!
