Happy Birthday to a Longhorn Legend!
Today we celebrate the birthday of Annette Greenfield Strauss, philanthropist, former mayor of Dallas, and the namesake of the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life. In honor of this exemplary woman, Longhorn Legends has created a short video to celebrate her life.
Support the Legacy of Annette Strauss
This UT Austin graduate was the ultimate volunteer. In Dallas from the 1950s through the 1980s, she helped raise millions for the arts and social causes. She became the city's first elected female mayor in 1957. Today, UT celebrates her life as a public servant and humanitarian through the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life
