Helping our Titan Families in Need
Yes, it's that time of year!  If you would like to take on a charitable cause this holiday season, please consider donating a gift card for a deserving Titan family.  Ms. Hanley works with Arcadia families every day and knows which ones would most benefit from your generous gift.  ANY gift card is of value, but we have found that Fry's gift cards are particularly useful, because they sell everything from food to school supplies to health and beauty aids, and there are stores accessible to all.  Again NO gift card is too small.  Gift cards can be dropped off at the front desk in the Main Office of Arcadia.  Thanks for considering this request!
National Signing Day
On Friday, December 11th,  Arcadia will hold a National Signing Day celebration at lunchtime outside of the cafeteria.  We will honor students who have committed to competing athletically at the college level next year.  So far, the honorees include Matti Harrison, Sam Huff,  Antonio Ramirez and Kara Woodard.  If you know of any other Titans who have received a scholarship to compete or have signed a letter of intent, please have them contact Mrs. French  i n the main office.

I T'S THAT TIME AGAIN!!!  TIME TO START COLLECTING FUN BOXER SHORTS!!!

Attention Senior Parents:
Boxer Bingo is one of the popular activities held during the all night graduation party at Cracker Jax. (you play a game of bingo and if you win, you get to pick out a fun pair of boxers) To make this happen, we need boxers donated for the event.  These can be holiday boxers, boxers from
various colleges, the crazier, the better! While you are out shopping for the holidays, or the sales after the holidays, or on college visits,
please pick up a few pairs to donate for Boxer Bingo at Project Grad!
There is a box in the office where you or your student can drop them off.
If you have questions please contact our boxer bingo chairperson:
Leslie Rangel at 602-291-718 , or email her at  [email protected] .

Thank you in advance for your support!!

A yearbook is $70 second quarter, $75 third quarter, $80 until April, and $85 IF extra books are available in May. Only a limited number of extras are ordered after the final numbers are submitted to the printer in February, There is no guarantee that a student who did not pre-order a book will be able to get one at the end of the year, so make sure you order your yearbook soon.

Congrats to Elena Selthun

Congratulations to our own Arcadia novelist!  Junior Elena Selthun was awarded a Winning Certificate for National Novel Writing Month as the author of The Ink Child.

Nanowrimo is a month-long writing project and she cranked out 50,000 words during the month of November!

This was Elena's 5th year participating. Yes, she started when she was 11 years old!   S he didn't finish the 50,000 words in 30 days as an 11-year-old, but completed this impressive feat the following 4 years, including this year. And, she has written at least 4 novels. Elena also won a cover design by a professional graphic artist based on the synopsis of her novel.

Way to go Elena !! Keep on Writing !

 Multi-Age Seminar
THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 @ 2:30 PM

ANLC has always been a multi-age school but it has not always been clear what that really means.  We have been working on re-defining what this looks like at ANLC and how we can further support it.  ANLC is privileged to host Dr. Sandra Stone, multi-age education expert, for a community information meeting. Dr. Stone will be  sharing information with our school community on what multi-age really means. She will talk about the multi-age education philosophy, sharing about her work at ANLC and answering questions related to multi-age.
Our plan is to video record the session for those who cannot attend. Her book Creating the Multiage Classroom is also a great resource to learn more.

All parents are encouraged to attend!
