Seminar Description

Participants in this course learn about inspection preparation and procedures; negotiation and arbitration; problem solving and conflict resolution; how to achieve unfailing inspections; and how to avoid re-inspection pitfalls. Provided the logistics are not too difficult for the agency to arrange, the instructor can walk participants through inspection protocols at a site location and unit. Some agencies have found this visual approach to be useful. If the walk through is held, it is recommended that it is scheduled for the second day of the training. This course will equip participants with the skills needed to inspect units and reduce errors and avoid HUD findings in compliance audits. (1.95 CEUs).

 Section 8 Housing Inspectors, Preventative Maintenance Inspectors, & both new & seasoned inspectors.

Learning Outcomes: 

Through expert instruction, you will learn to conduct a thorough inspection to illustrate (or rediscover) details that must be observed, and identify actions to be taken.

Managers and supervisors are the instruments through which performance and productivity happen in any organization. An organization's human resources are the engine driving quality, efficient accomplishment of work tasks, and effectively interacting with people served, and with co-workers. Managers' and supervisors have a direct impact on how productively their work unit operates. An agency's human assets directly impact the success and quality of services delivered to their communities.

Managing or supervising require unique sets of knowledge, skills and competencies. NAHRO's High Performance Management seminar provides not only key knowledge, but the opportunity for participants to experiment and to experience critical tools and techniques that can assist them to more effectively manage and supervise their people.

NAHRO's Professional Development System (NPDS) introduces new courses required to qualify toward NAHRO's Operations Management Certification. High Performance Management is a key course requirement in this certification process.
