It is  hard to believe  that it is already Thanksgiving!  Our Farmers Markets have wrapped up for the season, all of the apples have been harvested, and we are cleaning up the fields in preparation for winter.

It feels like it was just April and we were busy preparing for the season.  We were making beds, laying irrigation lines and planting veggies and strawberries.  We planted almost 40 Nut trees, 100 White Nectarine trees, 50 Blackberry plants, 200 Rhubarb crowns, 200 Raspberry plants and over 800 Apple trees.  When we were in the midst of our Cherry bloom in late April, we had a cold snap and had to save the crop with our over-head irrigation.

Even though each growing season has its challenges, we always make the best of it, and strive to bring the best fruit we can grow to the Farmers Markets.
This year we had a bountiful Blueberry and Raspberry harvest.  Our Peaches were fantastic!  It is very gratifying when you tell us that it was a great peach season.  As folks transitioned from peaches to apples this year, it was bittersweet to hear customers' disappointment that peaches were over, but to also appreciate how delicious they were.

Overall, it was a fantastic growing season and markets were great too.  Dave has said countless times, "If you get down to market and get home safely, you've had a good market day."  We had a few wet Saturdays, but they always countered with beautiful Sundays.

We are thankful for the season and even more thankful for your continued patronage and loyalty.  We know you have lots of options when it comes to buying fresh local fruit and vegetables, and we are thankful that you shop with Kuhn Orchards!  We are glad that you value our products, flavor and quality.

We hope to see you over the Winter - either at our Palisades Farmers Market or Winter CSA & Produce Pick-Up sites.

From all of us at Kuhn Orchards, Happy Thanksgiving!!
