Round One for the series kicks off April 8-10 at Virginia International Raceway, as the VCDA runs their 14th annual Wild Hare
meeting.
Using the full 3.27-mile course, this is a terrific track with great history, challenging slow and fast turns,
the famous climbing esses, all in beautiful rolling countryside. If past history is any guide,
the Formula Ford race will be closely
fought.
If you haven't run with the VDCA, you'll find them not unlike the VRG, a good group to run with. VDCA puts on a relaxed and fun event with plenty of on track time and this event includes:
* The Wild Hare - an all comers pursuit race and the last race run on Friday. (sign up required at Tech before noon!)
* The Royale Formula Ford Cocktail Half Hour, Friday, immediately after the end of racing. (6 Hoosier FF
tires will be raffled + a case of oil for the longest tow courtesy of Cloverleaf)
* The Friday Wine & Cheese evening will be sponsored by SascoSports at their spectacular trackside workshop.
* The VDCA Dinner at the track Saturday evening is included with your entry fee for you and a crew member.
We have two 30 minutes sessions Friday + three sessions Saturday, one-20 minutes and two-30 minutes (all shared
with Group 5 & 7). The third Saturday session will be a split start race.
Most important will be our stand-alone race, the first
round of the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series on Sunday. There will also be a Royale Challenge Series group
photo and awards presentation immediately after the Sunday Royale Challenge Series race.
If you still have not had enough, included in your entry fee is an enduro Sunday morning if you don't mind running with fast and slow
fendered cars and a second Group 2/5/7 race Sunday afternoon!
For those who can make it Thursday, entry to the track and registration is after 1 pm and tech opens at 1:30 pm,
allowing a relaxed early set-up.
Registration and tech will also be open 7:00 am to 11:00 am Friday.
Consider the Green Flag has dropped! Registration is now open at:
Motorsportsreg
It's time to get signed up and blow off the cobwebs - the early Bird entry is $450, so save $100 and register now!
What a great way to start the year. Get your entry in today and we look forward to seeing you in April.
