Province Announces $92 Million in Social Housing Energy Retrofits
|
Today the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Ted McMeekin, announced $92 million in new funding under the Green Investment Fund to support upgrades to older, energy inefficient buildings to reduce their energy costs and support the government's climate change strategy.
Available funding includes:
- $82 million toward energy retrofits for high-rise social housing towers of 150 units or more; and
- $10 million to help improve electricity efficiency in approximately 1,300 single social housing homes, which are often found in smaller and rural communities.
Consolidated
Municipal Service Managers (CMSMs) and District Social Services Administration Boards (DSSABs) are invited to respond to a Request for Expression of Interest by submitting a Business Case to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing by March 11, 2016 at 5:00pm.
Eligible CMSMs and DSSABs selected to receive a funding allocation will be contacted through a Letter of Commitment no later than
March 31, 2016.
