I write this on the Feast of Notre Dame de Lourdes, the feast day of our school. Over a hundred years ago three Sisters of St. Ursula emigrated from France and found work in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, thanks to God's providence that directed the Sisters to the United States and that parish's French speaking pastor! We, especially our girls, are the beneficiaries of such courageous women. Each day our students, taught by faculty who are also inspired to teach in the tradition of Anne de Xainctonge, educate our girls in the Christian faith and prepare them to excel academically and personally now, during their college careers and later in life.
Thanks to our Anne's Leaders in junior and senior years, we will all celebrate our feast day by enjoying skits based on the life of Anne de Xainctonge and the values of the school. The students will then enjoy a winter break. Some of us will turn our full attention to the Chez Nous Benefit, to be held on March 12th at Pier Sixty. We hope to see you there!
May God bless you and your families abundantly on our feast day, and every day. Thank you for the support you provide for Notre Dame School. Your investment in ND is a direct investment in our students' future.
Warm regards,
Dr. Virginia O'Brien, S.U.

59th Annual Chez Nous Benefit - March 12, 2016
On Saturday, March 12, 2016, alumnae, parents, friends, and students of Notre Dame will gather together for the 59th Annual
Chez Nous Benefit at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers. The afternoon will feature silent and live auction items, raffles and an opportunity to fund-the-scholarship. The generosity of our guests will support the Notre Dame Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to bright and deserving students
Chez Nous. Guests can also look forward to the delicious food from award winning
caterers Abigail Kirsch and, of course, remarks from our wonderful students.
While the Benefit is a time to come together in support of the students of Notre Dame, it is also an opportunity to honor and thank those who have made significant contributions of their time, talents and energy to the Notre Dame community. Each year an alumna of Notre Dame is recognized as the Anne de Xainctonge award recipient and two parents are recognized with the
Chez Nous
Parents Award.
This year we are pleased to announce
Edith Dalton Marinucci '56
as the Anne de Xianctonge Award recipient for her longstanding dedication to Notre Dame. We will also be honoring Mary Frances Sheridan Delaney '56 for her continued support of our students. We are equally pleased to recognize
Jeanine Bogdanos P'13,'14 &'16
and
Patricia Valonis P'16
with
the
Chez Nous
parents award for their commitment to the
Chez Nous
Benefit and their many and varied contributions to the Notre Dame community during their time as ND parents.
We hope that you will join us for what is sure to be an afternoon full of fun, friendship and excitement.
Thank you to those who have already contributed to the Benefit and all who have purchased their tickets. We look forward to seeing you on March 12th! For more information about the Chez Nous Benefit, contact Beth Bixenman, Director of Alumnae Relations and Special Projects at [email protected]
Today is the deadline for placing your ad in the

Our Lady of Lourdes Celebration
Today, the students of Notre Dame gathered in the Dolan Center for the annual Our Lady of Lourdes celebration, the culmination of this year's spirit week, which included themed days, community Mass, and a pep rally in support of the varsity basketball team.
The Our Lady of Lourdes celebration
Chez Nous honors not only the school's namesake, The Virgin Mary, but also the founder of the Sisters of St. Ursula and the guiding light of our school, Anne de Xainctonge.
During the school-wide celebration, members of the Junior Class acted out key moments in the life of Anne de Xainctonge that led to her decision to establish a religious order whose mission would be to educate young women. The production, which was written and produced by the students incorporated contemporary music that illustrated Anne's devotion to her mission, the very mission that is alive and well
Chez Nous.
At the conclusion of the story of Anne de Xainctonge,
the Senior Class took the
stage for their own production, a series of 6 short acts based on Anne's Values, the
twelve
values
that guided Anne de Xainctonge during her life. The seniors took care to impart their love for their school and commitment to these values on their
Chez Nous
sisters seated in the audience.
Many thanks to the hard work and dedication of the juniors and seniors in sharing the story of Anne de Xainctonge and the manifestation of the Notre Dame mission in our everyday lives with their
Chez Nous
sisters.
