From your team working in Guatemala,
we wish you and your family a healthy, safe, and enjoyable holiday season surrounded by love and peace.

YOUR DONATION WILL SAVE MORE LIVES.

Every day poverty makes our patients sick.
Dr. Alvarado examining Franklin, age 3.

The people who come to our health clinics are some of the poorest people in the world. They lack food, education, many do not have running water and live in houses with dirt floors. Children and adults suffer from malnutrition. People die of treatable diseases.

We provide a doctor's consult, vitamins and needed medicine. Thirty to 40 patients are treated every clinic day. These patients will go undiagnosed and untreated without your help.

DENTAL HYGIENE EDUCATION AND A TOOTH BRUSH KEEPS KIDS HEALTHY

Dental hygiene is basically non-existent in rural Guatemala.  Families lack money to buy toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Through donations from the Isle de St. Barthelemy, Guatemala Este, and Antigua Rotary Clubs, we opened our first permanent dental clinic in September. Services include cleanings, extractions, and fillings.

Dental hygiene education and a toothbrush is given to each patient during their visit. You can help us continue this vital work by making a donation to our dental services.

           $25 pays for one extraction
$30  pays for a dental cleaning
$50 pays for two fillings
$100 buys dental supplies for a month

Support our on-going dental education program in the schools.
$500 supplies 150 students in an elementary school with a toothbrush and toothpaste. That's only $3.33 per student.

COOKING SHOULDN'T KILL.
GIVE A FAMILY A CHAPINA STOVE THIS CHRISTMAS
Imagine cooking every meal over an open fire, breathing toxic smoke and worrying about your children getting burned.

That's reality in rural Guatemala. Hundreds of women suffer from pulmonary disease, eye problems and head aches caused by indoor smoke. Children suffer burns from the open fires.

A Chapina stove vents smoke outside the kitchen, uses 75% less wood than open fire cook stoves thus having less impact on the environment, and tortillas and pots can be cooked on the same surface.

Buy a Chapina stove for $135 and improve the health of an entire family.

YOUR INVESTMENT IN OUR HEALTH PROGRAM WILL BRING HOPE
      Sick people come to us
because they know we will help them.

This year our medical services expanded to patients who needed emergency surgeries, lab tests and x-rays, cancer treatments, cataract surgeries, and emergency transportation to the nearest hospital which is 2 hours away from most villages.

Providing these vital services saves lives.

$20 pay for urgent transportation to the hospital
$50 pays for medicine during a hospital stay
$50 pays for a patient's cataract surgery
$75 pays for lab tests and x-rays
$150 pays for 2 radiation treatments (it's true!)

IF YOU HAVE HEALTH, YOU HAVE HOPE.
