Support the youth program this Sunday!
There are three ways to support our young people this Sunday.

1. Drop off donations of cookies suitable for sale. They do not have to be heart shaped as the children and youth will be adding a special Valentine's Day touch to all items. But, if you'd enjoy making anything heart shaped they are delighted to include those as well! Donations are welcome anytime up until the start of the service so if you're attending me&thee you could leave them in the kitchen marked "Wild Things Youth Group" on Friday night. RSVP: Parents in particular, but others are welcome to do so as well: please let Susie LaBrie know if you are bringing in cookies so she may plan accordingly ([email protected]). Thank you.

2. Purchase Valentine's Day baked goods and candy the Wild Things Youth Group will be making on Sunday morning and selling during social hour.

3. Do both!

Oh wait, there is a fourth way to support them!

4. Engage them all in conversation! They are such an important part of our congregation and so are you! Let's all get to know one another better in the coming year.

Thank you to everyone who actively participated in the events of this past Sunday. It was a delightful, educational, and insightful gathering.

Also, huge thank you to Stathi Stratis for presenting Black Orpheus! This event welcomed many from beyond our UUCM family into rich conversation and the almond cake was amazing! Thank you Stathi!

Further thanks due to UUCM members & friends on the Marblehead Racial Justice Team who worked to bring Debby Irving, author of Waking Up White to Marblehhead last month. Kudos due Nikki Moore, Mary Gardner, Susan Morrison, Jay Morrison, Judy Gates and Deena Anderson and the other clergy and town members who helped make this possible.

Thank you to Kerry Martin for stepping up to be the adult leader with our Wild Things Youth group as they cook and serve at Lifebridge tomorrow night. Bell Ringing
Monday, February 22, 2016

Join us Monday February 22nd to ring the church's bell on Washington's Birthday! The schedule is as follows:

7:30 am - 8:00 am
12:00 noon - 12:30 pm
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Ashe Namaste Yoga - Yoga will be on the fourth Sunday every month. Next class Feb 28th.

What are daily practices that sustain us? Ashe Namaste Yoga offers yoga and movement which honors the divine in each of us. Yoga cultivates awareness through flexibility, spirituality, breath and brain. This supports a healthy lifestyle, wellness and equanimity. The last half hour of class integrates Umoja, the Dance of Abundance circle dance, integrating strength, flexibility and rhythm that will heighten a sense of wellness, vibrancy and interconnectedness. Share with others who are exploring new levels of awareness of Mind-Body-Spirit and stress reduction. This class is for everyone! Classes are 2:00-3:30 pm and $25 but a sliding scale ($5-$25) registration process is in place to accommodate financial restraints. We encourage anyone who is able to pay $25 to do so as Wyoma travels in from Dorchester and travel costs increase appropriately increase our cost to bring this wonderful program to our community. But our goal is many people attending so please do not let finances stand in the way. Take advantage of the sliding scale!

WYOMA is a certified yoga instructor from the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Centre in Montreal, Quebec. She has taught yoga for over 40 years and now blends a variety of classical yoga styles. She is also a holistic coach and creator of the African Healing Dance.

~Wild Things Youth Group Schedule ~

Fun: Plans are in the works for indoor skydiving, laser quest and white water rafting. On the books right now, however, is a trip in to see Blue Man Group on Sunday, March 20th at 2 pm. RSVPs are ESSENTIAL so please let Rev. Wendy know right away if you are going! We're planning on the 'poncho' seats so we need to do a Valentine's Day fundraiser to help defray costs! This is a chance to go and have some fun together and also be part of the conversation of 'what's next!'

Service: Youth Group cooks at Lifebridge every '2nd Friday' of the month. At least one adult arrives by 4:30 to review the meal plan. Youth arrive by 5 pm and are done by 7:15 pm. This is a chance to provide support to those in need, work together and also meet people who are part of our world community but living in very different circumstances.

Lifebridge Schedule = Feb 12, Mar 11, Apr 8, May 13 & June 10.

Community: We have a sleepover every month at UUCM. We make individual pizzas, play games, do tattoos and other fun things! This is a chance to make friends you might not otherwise make due to location, grade, etc.

Sleepover Schedule = Feb 27, Mar 19, Apr 9, May 14 and June 18.
