DIY1095 Software & Support Enhancements and Modifications
|
Enhancements
DIY1095 added a status bar to the software to clarify the system is processing client data, printing forms, and so on. Depending on the size of the client, template uploads and generating forms may take several minutes. Please be patient and wait for the status bar (spinning wheel) to complete its task before trying to move on within the system.
Printing Process
DIY1095 created new efficiencies for printing 1094 and 1095 Forms. Once the user
elects to "Print Forms", a system generated notice will confirm receipt of the form information, produce forms in the background (versus real-time), and notify the user to download and print forms.
eFile Request
For large clients (250+) that intend to leverage DIY1095 to eFile, please notify MillisonJames and they will add your client to the list of eFiling clients.
Deadline for DIY1095 Notification is February 12, 2016 The actual IRS deadline is not until June for eFiling, but the mid-February date allows the DIY1095 Team to get everything set up for your group well in advance.

Cadillac Tax Delayed to January 2020
|
The U.S. President signed a budget bill delaying implementation of the Affordable Care Act's tax on high-value or "Cadillac" health plans.
Delayed from 2018, to January 1, 2020, the 40% excise tax on high-value health plans are currently set to impact family plan premiums (exceeding $27,500) and individual plan premiums (exceeding $10,200), and the tax will now be deductible.
Additionally, the budget bill funds the government through fiscal year 2016, summons the U.S. Comptroller General and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to study the Affordable Care Act's age and gender benchmarks to determine the "Cadillac" tax thresholds.
Both sides of the administration support repealing the Cadillac Tax and the outcomes will be dependent on the next U.S. President and Administration.
