Do you know about Bounce Back?

Bounce Back is an academic support program for first-year students who are struggling academically after their first term (GPA below 1.6). When students opt-in, they are matched with an upper year mentor who works 1:1 with them to get them back on track. The program runs for the entire winter term for ArtSci.

Summer course registration began February 10

Summer course registration opened on Wednesday, February 10th.  To find summer course offerings in SOLUS, remember to change the career to "distance".
This is the perfect opportunity to add another course!

Student Self-Declaration of Illness

Did you know that students are not expected to obtain physician sick notes for acute minor infections or illness from Student Wellness Services or from a hospital or community-based doctor?  If you  are not able to meet your academic obligations due to a short-term illness, you are required to fill out the university's Self-Declaration of Illness form and take it to your instructors to seek an accommodation. You may also provide instructors with Student Wellness Services' letter to Faculty and Staff explaining this university policy.

Most students have, at some point, suffered minor illnesses and felt too unwell to meet all of the demands facing them. It is expected that your instructors will take you at your word when you submit the self-declaration form, and provide a reasonable accommodation that allows you to complete any work missed during your illness.

Our on-campus physicians may provide students with a 'Verification of Illness' form in situations where a serious and/or chronic (long term) illness or injury results in a significant disruption of academic work.

SASS Winter Workshops & Events

Student Academic Success Services comprises Learning Strategies and the Writing Centre. They offer academic support to  students who wish to develop their skills in critical thinking, reading, learning, studying, writing, and self-management.
SASS will be holding optional workshops and events throughout the Winter term.

Majors Night

Choosing a program is one of the largest decisions students make in university. It's important to make an informed choice - but it doesn't have to stress you out. Majors Night was created to help you ask questions and learn about each Arts and Science program.

Members from each Departmental Student Council (DSC) will be available at individual booths to answer questions about their experiences with the programs offered by each department. You'll be able to compare the different programs you're considering and explore whether they fit your interests and future goals.

Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 4-7 pm in Grant Hall.
