Are You Ready for Some Foosball?
The roster for this year's tournament is filling up quickly, but a few spots remain to "play it forward" for the kids at YESS.   Below are just some of the event highlights you won't want to miss!

Team Spirit

Team names like "I Pity the Foos" and a variety of creative costumes help everyone get in the game and cheer on their team.

Tailgating Atmosphere

Food, drinks, and games will be available all day for players to enjoy, as well as live music by  Thad Phillips  in the evening.

Fast-Paced Game-play

Nothing beats the games in this bracket-style tournament, and our "game changers"  add a whole new level to game-play  (like the ability to tie together the legs of the opposing team's goalie) .

The Gear

All players will be sporting the coveted YESS Sweatband, but the  best HFL swag goes to the winning team: The 2015 HFL Championship Trophy!

So what are you waiting for? Let's play!
Visit YESSfoosball.org  to claim one of the last remaining spots in this year's bracket .

Back to School Season

As summer comes to a close, kids throughout our community are returning to class, and the children at YESS are no different.

All children living in YESS' emergency shelter attend school - either in their local school district or in one of our on-site classrooms. In partnership with the Heartland AEA, these classes help children of all ages achieve educational success, despite the chaos and difficult circumstances in their lives.

While back to school season can be exciting, it can also be a time of transition and stress. New schedules, routines, and expectations add to everyone's busy life. If your family is looking for some support during this transitional time, the caring staff at YESS are here to help. Outpatient counseling, care coordination, and other support services can help your family achieve success this fall and throughout the year.  Call 515-282-9377 to learn more.

Sammons  Financial Group
Supports Shelter Expansion Project

Sammons Financial Group, a finance services company with local offices in West Des Moines, provided vital support to YESS' Shelter Expansion Project this summer. Their generous gift of $50,000 supports the 32 new bedrooms, dedicated therapy spaces, new classrooms, library, and other vital spaces in YESS' shelter expansion.

Local Sammons Financial Group representatives present Julie Schneider, Chief Advancement Officer, and Stephen Quirk, Chief Executive Officer, with $50,000 for YESS' Shelter Expansion.

SFG's mission is to make a difference in the communities where their employees live and work, and  YESS is so grateful for SFG's community spirit. They step up to serve on nonprofit boards, lend a helping hand in times of natural disasters, provide assistance to youth and senior citizens, and support fundraising efforts. In doing so, it is their goal to bring hope, ease suffering, and make a difference in our community.
