Tis the season of kicking New Year's resolutions into gear.
The challenge is not only starting new habits, but also
creating a consistent program that allows you to progressively meet your goals.
One of the key ingredients for success is creating goals that are well-defined and measurable!
For example, "I want to eat healthier!" is an incredibly vague statement, and there is no way to measure progress on this goal. It's difficult to get the satisfaction or the change in lifestyle that you desire with vague goals. Instead, your goal might be: "I want to eat vegetarian meals 5 times a week" or "I want to reduce my consumption of alcohol to 3 drinks per week" These goals are easily defined and easily tracked. One of my personal goals is "I want to work on one new pole trick each month for all of 2016." My goal is to have 12 new pole tricks by the end of the year!
The second key ingredient is to break down your goals into steps that you can realistically achieve. For example, your goal may be to pole dance 1 hour a day, 6 days a week. Meeting this goal requires some serious dedication. If you do not currently workout at all, you may want to break this goal into smaller steps. For example, you could plan to pole dance 2 days a week in January, 3 days a week in Feb, 4 days a week in March ect, and plan to meet your goal in May.
The third key ingredient in successfully meeting your goals is accountability
. Share your goal with a friend or mentor who can help you stay on track. If your goal is to compete or perform, join a performance workshop, train with a friend or work with a coach - your supporters will help you stick to your program when the temptation arises to stray from your goal.
Finally, set goals that will make 2016 the best year ever for you! Set goals that are in line with your personal vision for a luscious life!
xoxo
