FILM: We're bringing the '80s back, boom boxes and all, with a 7:00 pm screening of Say Anything on Saturday, February 6th. In this critically acclaimed tale of teen romance, Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) falls unforgettably in love with Diane Court (Ione Skye) to the tune of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes." Your $5 ticket enters you into a Valentine's day raffle, including a bottle of Champagne (if you're 21 or older, of course), two wine glasses by  City Wine Market, a flower arrangement by  Bittersweet Floral & Design, and a nine-piece box of Christopher Elbow chocolate by  Au Marche, the European Market.  And if that's not enough, Sandbar Subs will be selling spam, pickle, and mustard sandwiches-Lloyd's favorite!-to complete your cinematic experience. EXHIBTIONS: The Lawrence Arts Center presents an INSIGHT ART Talk by Ben Ahlvers on the new exhibit "Naturally: A Group Exhibition."  "Naturally" brings together four artists--Susan Beiner (AZ), John Byrd (FL), Patsy Cox (CA), and Jason Walker (WA)--whose work explores the ever-changing relationship Americans have with the natural world. How does our increasingly integrated virtual experience in our everyday lives impact our understanding and relationship to nature? How do we integrate or detach from nature? Some of the works in the exhibit go to the heart of these ideas, while others blur the line between man-made and natural. All of the artists explore these ideas through ceramic material using a variety of processes and techniques. Ben Ahlvers tells us more at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th in the Lawrence Arts Center's large gallery. This event is FREE and open to the public.
