Sha'arei Shabbat
February 12
6:30 Shabbat Services
7:30 Shabbat Dinner
8:00 Program

Ever heard of Lilith? According to some Jewish folklore, Lilith was Adam's first wife, who was created by God at the same time (Rosh Hashanah) and of the same earth as Adam. Whoa! Wait a minute! Wasn't Eve the first wife of Adam and didn't God "fashion" her from one of Adam's ribs? Whether you've heard of Lilith or not, be sure to attend the Sha'arei Shabbat Program on February 12, and learn "the rest of the story" about her. Our very own TBI member, Mark Cain, has done quite a bit of research on the legend of Lilith
and has a fascinating story to share with us.

On the menu is oven baked barbecue chicken, s calloped corn, f resh green beans, g reen salad.

Here's the exciting news! Beginning this month, the cost for dinner will be
$8.00; kids 16 and under are FREE! You read that correctly - FREE! Now you
can bring the whole mishpocha and pay only $16 bucks. (Unless you bring
bubbie - she costs $8.00. But bubbie's worth it, yes?)

Baby sitting will be available for kids under 8. Go to the Temple website at
www.thetempleokc.org  to register for all of the Sha'arei Shabbat dinners or click HERE

A Bottle in the Gaza Sea
Sunday, March 6, 2016, 1:45 pm
Emanuel Synagogue
900 NW 47th
Oklahoma City, 73118

When teen Tal Levine witnesses a bombing in Tel Aviv, she becomes despondent. Like so many people, she wants Israel and Palestine to live in peace. One day she puts her hopes into a letter, places the letter into a bottle, and gives it to her brother, asking him to toss it into the Gaza Sea. A young man in Gaza finds the bottle, and responds. He is critical, angry, annoyed at first, but eventually they both participate in a friendship that ultimately opens their eyes.

This is a free event. Please RSVP so that we can plan for refreshments &
seating. To RSVP please visit: www.jewishmuslimfilminstitute.com
