Meet Helen

Helen graduated from Canada's first two-year Tellington-Touch Companion Animal Certification Program in 2000. She has since become an Advanced Practitioner teaching three-day Certification trainings. She is also a Dog Powered Sports Instructor and Therapy Dog Evaluator .

What she says about herself:

"Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I was fortunate my parents understood my passion, and allowed me to bring home pretty well any animal that crossed my path to add to our dog, cat, and bunny family. It did get a little difficult when a lamb followed by a horse entered the equation - we did not live on a farm! As I grew older, and life and reality set in, I managed to limit myself to one or two (ok, sometimes three) dogs, and a cat.

"In 1994, I rescued Misty, a great Pyrenees with more issues than I could handle by myself. In 1996, I attended my first TTouch workshop, and the difference it made for our relationship was so incredible, I never looked back. Misty and TTouch changed my life to what it is today!

"Along with my TTouch work, I am also regional Evaluator for Therapeutic Paws of Canada, an organization providing visiting teams to seniors' homes, hospitals, libraries, as well as a 'Paws to Read' program.

"I live in the beautiful Gatineau Hills, just across the river from Ottawa, ON. where we enjoy snowshoeing and skiing in winter, and paddling and hiking in the summer. Since my husband and I became 'empty nesters', we decided to try something new - yes, learn rather than teach! So we took up Dragonboat racing - we compete in Quebec, Ontario, and the US with a couple of amazing teams. This year we are headed to Australia - hopefully we'll b ring back some 'bling' to add to our medal collection!

"I look forward to meeting you at one of the workshops!"
