CARB- California Retailers of Small Containers of Automotive Refrigerant - Do You Know the Regulation? The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is attempting to reach California retailers selling the small containers (typically 10 to 22 ounces) of automotive refrigerant for do-it-yourselfers. With the warmer weather upon us, retail sales of these products will increase. CARB wants to make sure that the retailers are aware of the regulation and that they must comply with all the regulatory requirements pertaining to the sales of certified products. Retailers found to be in violation with the regulation could receive penalties such as fines.
