150th Celebration Planning is in Full Swing - and We Need Your Help!

We've had incredible class projects, we've transported students back in time to a one-room schoolhouse and now it's time to plan the 150th Anniversary Week, Open House and Fair!

Prairie is the first school in the state of Kansas to turn 150 years old and we need your help to make this celebration one for the books! Please join us in the MPR tomorrow (2/11) at 1:30 to learn about how you can get involved. If you can't make this meeting we encourage you to click  here  to see if there's a spot that works for you.

This is such a unique opportunity to be the first school to commemorate such a huge milestone and we invite you all to be a part of it!

Thanks to All the Volunteers Coordinating Class Baskets

Please note, the representative for 4th grade is Theresa Thornhill and Tessie Wissel for 6th grade. If you have not already, please consider donating to your class basket.

Also, thank you to everyone who purchased tickets at the Variety Show! What an eventful Saturday - great job Variety Show performers and volunteers!

If we missed you on Saturday, you can still purchase tickets for $50 each, click here!

We look forward to seeing many Prairie families at the Vox Theatre on February 27th for the opportunity to bid on some fabulous items such as:
- 2 Bedroom Condo at Vidanta Resorts in Mexico
- A weekend getaway to a True Prairie home nestled in the Flint Hills
- Hot Air Balloon Ride
- A 64GB iPad Air
- 5 lower level Royal tickets to a premium game
- 4 Season Opener tickets to a Sporting KC game with parking pass
Just to name a few...

Thank you for your support and to everyone who has graciously donated to the auction!

Learn About Education Changes and Make Your Voice Heard

Join the Prairie PTA at a bipartisan form on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Colonial Church in Prairie Village (across from Macy's) for an update on Kansas legislative activity regarding public education policy and funding.

The event, hosted by the MainStream Coalition, will include Republican and Democratic state representatives. Parents will have a chance to express our priorities for our children's education, share experiences from our own schools, and ask questions about the issues that will help to determine our children's futures.

Prairie PTA's legislative liaison, Melinda Lewis, will be sharing action alerts and updates throughout the session, but February 23rd will be a valuable opportunity to get first-hand reports from under the dome and make your voice heard. Click here for more information.
