My apologies for the late newsletter, but there is quite a confluence of factors demanding my attention.

Also, I am rolling the dice and going without my normal review by the Church Secretary...so, let me know if I messed something up as my eyes are tired from the edits and reviews.

Thank you and once again be CCB Amazed at all we have going on!!
Moderator Moment - Call to Congregational Annual Meeting on February 21, 2016

Committee Chairs - Please submit your annual report to our Church Clerk, Sonia Higley, by this Sunday, February 14th.  Thank you.

The Potluck Assignment is changed slightly to the following:

Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper - TOMORROW

pancakes.jpg Prepare for Lent by bringing you, your family or your friends to our Annual Pancake Supper from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm tomorrow.

To help us plan, Read & Register Here ...or you can simply stop by!

See you tomorrow night!

Lay Readers & Coffee Hour Volunteers

This function falls under the Deacons planning, but it is this writer who is asking for some help.  A few people or teams have dropped out of reading or hosting Coffee Hour.

If you are new to the church or are looking for an easy way to share your time and talent, please consider helping out the church and current volunteers by signing up for one or both.  After all, many hands truly makes the work light.

For the Coffee Hour, a team of two or a family can easily handle the duties.  Please email the Church Office and let us know how you wish to help and I'll get you added to the end of the current rotation.

Don't worry, the Deacons or other volunteers can help with the kitchen duties.  Thank you for your consideration.
The Sexton Committee
We are looking for some helping hands!

spring_cleaning.jpg Our Committee is looking for volunteers who would like to assist us in helping to keep our church clean and tidy!  If you are not in a position to officially join our committee, that's OK!

Individuals, families or community groups can help us out by volunteering to clean one week or even one month during the year.

It takes approximately 3 hours each week to clean the church so the more people you have in your group, the quicker it will be clean!

If you are interested please see Tammy Eisenmann after church or contact her by email.  Thank you!

Frank's Flix | Lenten Study Series presented by Rev. Taylor

Frank's Flix - Friday, February 12th! Parent Valentines Drop-off Night!

Parents! Drop your kids off at 6 pm, go on a nice Valentine's Weekend date ALONE and pick up again at 9 pm.

We'll be showing a short film and Hotel Transylvania 2 (PG, 89 minutes) and enjoying an ice cream sundae station!

We could use a teen volunteer needing community service hours to help with the setup and serving the ice cream.

Please email Amy Archick to help and we thank you in advance!

As always, Frank's Flix movies are free but goodwill donations are accepted to replenish the Frank Parmer Fund which is dedicated to helping the children of our Congregation.

Congregational Church of Burlington
As your outgoing Business Committee Chair, I do hope many of you can make our Annual Meeting as so many people work hard to keep our church moving forward and operating.  It is not only a show of support for your Church, but also for the people who have stepped up this past  year.

I will still be your de-facto digital guru but I am always willing to help train those who are wish to add a skill set that is very much in demand...and, there is hardly any pressure other than our deadline for the newsletter.  Here are some areas I could use help with:
  • Website News Blog setup
  • Website page changes
  • Email account management
  • Newsletter creation and submission
  • Social media, specifically Facebook but opening up another options like Instagram would be great for our Church.

That's just a few things that I do.  I'll take any volunteer, but it would be cool if we get 2 or 3 others with interest in one or two things so we can create a small team to make the work lighter.  As you see, I am very late with this newsletter because I simply don't have as much time like I used to, which is a good thing for my business!

Thank you again for reading our newsletter and putting up with my writing style!

For the final time as your Business Committee Chairperson, I sign off with...

Peace & Thanks,

Jerry Burns
