Folsom Volunteers Needed for Amgen Tour of California  
Be a part of the fun and action when Folsom hosts the Amgen Tour of California on May 20. The world's top cyclists will compete against the clock in Folsom for Stage 6 of the race: Men's Individual Time Trial and Women's Team Time Trial. Volunteers are needed to serve as course marshals to keep the course clear of pedestrians, spectators and cars; and to keep spectators informed of race status.  All volunteers receive a commemorative T-shirt and swag bag - plus the opportunity to be a part of the race and Folsom history! Folsom Police Host Coffee with a Cop February 24  
Grab a cup of coffee and get to know Folsom Police Chief Cynthia Renaud and Sergeant Eric Baade at "Coffee with a Cop" on February 24. The casual meet-and-greet will be held at 6 p.m. at Peet's Coffee & Tea at 1290 E. Bidwell Street. The "Coffee with a Cop" program is designed to build partnerships between the Folsom Police Department and the communities it serves, one cup of coffee at a time.  For more information call the Folsom Police Department at 355-7230. 

Free Drop-In Group Guitar Lessons at the Folsom Senior Center
Join Daniel Roest, accomplished classical guitarist and co-leader of the Sacramento Guitar Society, every Thursday from 10:45 a.m.to 1 p.m. for free ongoing lessons.  Anyone age 55+ is welcome to join. Lessons include basic instruction and practice playing songs as a group. Participants should bring their own guitar. The Folsom Senior Center is located at 48 Natoma Street, between Folsom City Hall and the Folsom Police Department.  Call 351-3510 for more information.
Applications Available February 29 to Sell Fireworks in Folsom 
Nonprofit groups have from February 29 to March 26 to apply for a permit to sell "safe and sane" fireworks in the City of Folsom.  The forms will be available on the City of Folsom website and at Folsom Fire Station 35, located at 535 Glenn Drive.  For more information view the public notice or call 984-2280. 


Presidents' Day Closures
City administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15 in observance of Presidents' Day. For urgent City issues, call 355-7231. Call 9-1-1 for life threatening emergencies.
There will be no local Folsom Stage Line transit service on Monday, Feb. 15.  
The Folsom Zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Folsom Sports Complex will be open during regular hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Folsom Aquatic Center will be open for lap swim from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The Fun Factory Preschool will be closed.
The "FIDO Field" Dog Park will be open from 7 a.m. to one hour after sunset
The Cummings Family Skate and Bike Park will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
The Folsom Public Library is closed on Mondays. 
The Senior & Arts Center at 48 Natoma will be closed.
All City of Folsom parks are open from 7 a.m. until one hour after sunset. 

Presidents' Day School Break Futsal Camp
Take advantage of the two-day school holiday and learn futsal skills that you put into play at this fun co-ed camp for ages 6-16.  Futsal is a modified version of indoor soccer that demands quick reflexes and fast thinking. Camp is held 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 15-16 at the Folsom Sports Complex.  Call 984-2850 for more details and to register.
Valentine's Day Party at the Folsom Senior Center
The Folsom Senior Center invites everyone age 55+ to join the fun at a free special event starting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 12.  Enjoy a lively game of bingo, raffle prizes and refreshments, plus good conversation and friendship. Party-goers may bring their own brown-bag lunch or make a hot lunch reservation in advance with Senior Nutrition ($2 suggested donation); call 351-3386 by Monday the week prior to reserve lunch.  Learn more about City of Folsom's programs for seniors by calling 351-3510.

 
Owl Be Your Valentine at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary
Make a special Valentine card for your favorite zoo animal at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary on Saturday and Sunday, February 13-14. All materials are provided, but bring your creativity! The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; regular zoo admission fees apply.
