LETTER
FROM  PRINCIPAL
SABLESKI
Good morning,

Today's Gospel, John 4:43-54, tells the story of Jesus' second public sign, the healing of a sick boy; the son of a Galilean official.  In the passage, Jesus grants the man's wish to heal his son but chastises the crowd for needing a miracle in order to believe.

This is relevant for us today as we move through Lent towards Easter.  During this season, we are called to recognize Christ working in our daily lives.  Signs of Him are everywhere, but are we paying enough attention to notice them? How often have you felt that God was speaking to you through your spouse, a friend, or through a Sunday homily? Maybe you've opened a book to a random page or saw something on TV that was exactly what you needed to hear.  Or maybe you've narrowly escaped what should have been certain calamity.

These moments are signs, too -- ways that God is weaving grace into our day-to-day life. They strengthen our belief that Jesus is real, that he loves us, and that he is with us.
I see God's strong presence in our community all of the time.  Our work is not always easy, but it is tremendously rewarding when we see our kids accomplishing their goals, serving each other, and growing into the people God intends them to be!  Signs of God's grace are everywhere at Carroll High School, and these signs are why it's truly a great day to be a Patriot!

"Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see a sign of grace today."

Matt

PATS ON THE BACK
Congratulations and Thanks!

Congrats!
Carroll reinforced its reputation as one of Dayton's premiere schools for STEM Education.  52 students presented research projects at the Montgomery County Science Day, more than any other school in the county!  Peter Menart was selected to present at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix in May!   You can read more about Peter and the 22 other students won individual awards by clicking this link.

We also received results from the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics Contest, and Carroll tied for 1st place at our site (WSU) with 79 points overall.

CARROLL ST. PAT'S
FEST
We invite you to support the Carroll St. Pat's Fest to be held March 11-12, 2016.  Friday evening will be the ever-popular Irish Fish Fry (adults only), followed by family fun on Saturday highlighting Irish Dancers, talented bands, delicious food, Celtic games, and more.  Our goal is to successfully bring together various groups at Carroll as well as create an entertaining event to the Greater Dayton area, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day!

Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Patriot Booster Club, and the  Carrolleer Band Association.   Money raised will positively impact the entire Carroll community--benefiting academics, the arts, athletics, and alumni.

We need your help!  Fill out the volunteer form on Carroll's website or contact Julie Weitz at jweitz@carrollhs.org if you would like to help.
