Seed Bank
March is a great time to sow cool-season, direct-seeded veggies so they can finish producing before the heat of summer. If you haven't visited our Seed Bank already, come get cool-season favorites like beets, carrots, chard, lettuce, mustard greens, peas, radishes, spinach, and turnips. To make an appointment to stop by the Seed Bank, please
contact Megan.

Insect Pest Management for Spring Veggies
As you're sowing spring veggies and setting Brassica transplants, don't forget that you're not the only one excited about garden-grown kale, mustard, and turnip greens. Aphids and cabbageworms can munch through a lot of Brassica crops!
To protect early-season veggies, use
floating row cover. This light
weight fabric can be found at most gar
den supply stores. Use PVC tubing or other material to create hoops over your vegetabl
e rows, then spread row cover over the hoops to form a low tunnel. Secure the fabric with heavy bricks or stones on the ground. Be sure to remove it when temperatures regularly reach the high 80's - but by then, you should be enjoying the harvest of cool-season crops.

use cubiertas flotantes (floating row covers). Se encuentra este tela de pe
so lig
r
