Clayton Chamber of Commerce
A Resolution
To support 2016 Connect NC Bonds

WHEREAS , the North Carolina General Assembly has voted to include a $2 billion bond referendum on the March 2016 ballot; and

WHEREAS , it has been 15 years since the last general obligation bond was authorized to upgrade our state's infrastructure; and

WHEREAS , since that time, North Carolina's population has increased by two million people; and

WHEREAS , no tax increases are necessary; and

WHEREAS , there are significant investments in Johnston County and the Eastern region of North Carolina; and

WHEREAS , the bonds will provide $3,701,470.00 for new construction, repairs and renovations at Johnston Community College; and

WHEREAS, the bonds will provide $4,500,000.00 for improving the Mountain-to-Sea Trails; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Clayton Chamber of Commerce wholeheartedly endorses the $2 billion bond referendum for statewide infrastructure which will appear on the ballot on March 15, 2016.
