Family-to-Family Training in Malibu

A three-day Family-to-Family Teacher Training Workshop will be held in Malibu in January for eligible members of NAMI affiliates in Los Angeles County.

The NAMI Family-to-Family class is a unique educational program that provides support and resources for the family members, friends and caregivers of people living with mental illness. Leading a Family-to-Family class is an opportunity to give the gift of hope to other family members navigating the challenges of supporting a loved one experiencing a mental illness. This three-day teacher training will cover the content of the class and give you the tools to help guide families with mental illness in their midst.

Affiliate Capacity Building Resource Guide

This month, NAMI California will be distributing the  Affiliate Capacity Building Resource Guide, developed from the Affiliate Capacity Building and Mentor Project funded through CalMHSA. We will email the guide to all affiliate presidents and executive directors shortly, so please be on the lookout for it in your inbox.

Webinars are planned for Wednesday, December 9 at noon and at 6 p.m. to review the toolkit together, answer questions, and get your input. We encourage affiliates to attend one of these webinars live, but we will also make the recordings available afterward. A survey will be sent to everyone by the end of that week soliciting more specific responses to the document. Our goal is to create a product that is useful, relevant and meaningful to your affiliate and community.

Please contribute your thoughts and help make this a truly useful guidefor all NAMI California affiliates. For questions, please contact Bettie Reinhardt at  [email protected] or Beth Wolf at  [email protected]

Thank you, and stay tuned for more info this week!
