National Rural Health Day Contest Winners!


For National Rural Health Day on November 19, 2015, the Montana Rural Health Initiative encouraged people of all ages to send us photos that demonstrated the power of rural.  
The National Rural Health Day Photo Contest was a great opportunity for members of rural communities to visually share what rural health means to them. Many chose to  submit a photo highlighting their favorite pastimes that keep them happy, healthy and active in their rural communit ies!

Description: The USDA Community Facilities Loan and Grant Program provides loans, grants, and loan guarantees for essential community facilities in rural areas.

Gannett Foundation Community Action Grants
Agency : Gannett Foundation

Description: The grant supports local organizations with funding priority given to programs that focus on: Education and neighborhood improvement, economic development,youth development, community problem-solving and assistance
 to disadvantaged people.

Montana J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Agency : Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services
Deadline : Applications accepted on an ongoing basis 
Description: The Montana State 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for three years in an under-served area of Montana, waiving the foreign medical residency requirement and allowing them to remain in the United States. 

Montana NHSC Student Loan Repayment Program
Agency: Montana Primary Care Office

Description: Program offers loan repayment assistance for healthcare professionals who agree to practice in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) of Montana.
