This past Sunday, Rev. Steve Eveland reminded us in his homily (
available here if you missed it!) that we don't have to let our past define us. However, we certainly have the opportunity to learn from our past, and evolve to become better each day. What wonderful insight as we begin to see cracks in winter's harsh surface and move into the warmer temperatures of our next turn of the season, the Spring Equinox. After all, just because we were cold and frozen and snow-soaked over the last two months doesn't mean we are going to keep wearing our winter boots and coats when it gets warmer, right? We learn that we can move on and evolve and adapt as necessary to accommodate our NOW.
I am so excited that the "NOW" at ISD includes so many wonderful new opportunities to move to and move through the approaching months.
For instance, this week, we celebrate the return to ISD of Rev. Jim Webb on Tuesday March 8 at 7:30 p.m. to lead his ever-popular, four-week class
"Exploring the Course in Miracles." You won't want to miss Rev. Webb's infectious energy as he and the group discuss, explore and apply several lessons from this spiritual philosophy.
Our second bi-monthly
Evening Meditation will take place on Wednesday March 9, led by yours truly. Come take a break from the hustle and bustle of your week and month by joining with others in the candlelit stillness as we explore different meditations and meditation techniques. Check out last month's Evening Meditation,
finally available as a podcast, along with other meditations and homilies, on
ISD's SoundCloud page.
On Thursday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m., Rev. Sue Landon will kick off her four-week series on
"The Art of Counseling." Haven't you noticed, that as a spiritually aware individual, friends and family naturally come to you for insight and guidance? Rev. Sue will help us learn how to LISTEN to those who seek our help, and to offer that help by prompting them to discover their own answers within. This is a required course for those interested or participating in ISD's ministerial program.
Saturday, March 12, you can tap into the intuitive talents of our ISD mediums at our bi-monthly
Psychic Fair, where you can receive a one-on-one reading (or several) for some insight from Spirit to help guide you as you seek to manifest more goodness in your life.
March promises to be a marvelous month for all of us at ISD - so be sure to check out our website's
calendar of events for all of the magic that we have planned. And of course you can always check our
Facebook page for other interesting and fun posts and updates from ISD!
With love and peace and fellowship,
