Diane Carlson is nationally known for her fundraising achievements, having received numerous honors and awards. Diane was honored by the AFP New Jersey Chapter (Outstanding Fundraiser of the Year) as well as the AFP Las Vegas Chapter (Lifetime Achievement Award) for her outstanding fundraising talent. In this presentation, Diane will walk us through the process of managing the "ask," starting with prospect identification and ending with how to say 'thank you.' This is an audience interactive session on how to organize and solicit major gifts, whether for capital or annual. We will focus on keeping control of the Ask throughout the solicitation process. Both staff and volunteers will find this session helpful as the essential steps of major gift solicitation are discussed.

Dear Members,
Spring has sprung....temperatures are warming....and the AFP Greater Dallas Chapter is heating up with new programs and events. Please make sure you read the eblasts that come out during the month to alert you to everything going on in our chapter. There is definitely something to interest every member.
The AFP International Conference is in Boston, March 20 to 22. Join us there for three days of listening, learning and laughter among the greatest thought-leaders in international fundraising and philanthropy. The International Conference will acknowledge our chapter with two awards. 74 chapters out of 243 will receive the Friends of Diversity 2015 Award, including the Greater Dallas AFP. Chapters receive this designation for performing specific activities designed to increase diversity and inclusion within fundraising in their chapter. The Greater Dallas Chapter is also one of only 34 chapters that will receive the 2015 Ten Gold Star Award. This award honors chapters that have increased professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. This is a great honor for the Greater Dallas AFP, kudos to our 2015 leadership!
Please note that due to the dates of the International Conference, the Greater Dallas Chapter monthly lunch program was moved to Wednesday, March 30th at 11:30 AM at Arlington Hall (same place and schedule).

The AFP Greater Dallas and Fort Worth Chapters will be the beneficiary of the silent auction of PartyFest 2016. The event will be held at Dallas Market Hall on Wednesday, April 6th from 11 AM to 4 PM.
The 28th Annual Partyfest "Spring Showcase"
is the largest one-day exhibition and trade show of its kind held in the Southwest, a spectacular one-day event featuring over 200 of DFW's top party and event suppliers. Chapter members will receive a
free ticket
to attend.
