Yellowfin Tuna are a very good-looking fish. They are torpedo-shaped with metallic dark blue, yellow and silver. True to their name, their fins are bright yellow. They grow fairly fast and can be up to 400 pounds, but have a short life span of 7 years. With a mild, meaty flavor, yellowfin is extremely lean and bright red in color when raw, but turns brown to grayish-tan when cooked.Yellowfin is low in saturated fat and sodium and is a very good source of protein, thiamin, selenium, and vitamin B6.
