Two Days = Two Great Ways to Give
Be a Giving Hero to our Dreamers!

First Giving Day - Dec 1st
First on December 1st is #GivingTuesday, a day when people all over the world are taking time to give back and our Dreamers would like you  to be our Giving Hero! For 24 hours starting at 12:01 a.m. on December 1st the 1:1 Fund and a corporate donor will triple all College Savings Account gifts up to $500 per donor.

This means that  if you donate $500 on December 1st, then
"I Have a Dream" will receive $1500 for College Savings Accounts.   All funds raised will help open College Savings Accounts for
Dreamers to use for books and room and board to set them on the path to and through college. *

Your gift will send a strong message to our Dreamers - that they can achieve their dreams, and that their futures are worth investing in.  Click here  to have your gift tripled!

*Please note that donations made via this campaign cannot be applied to Dreamer sponsorships or previous pledges.

Second Giving Day - Dec 8th
Another great opportunity to support "I Have a Dream" is on December 8th.  An anonymous donor will MATCH donations on Colorado Gives Day, December 8th. Gifts can be pre-scheduled by clicking here. The Colorado Gives Day donations are unrestricted meaning that they can be applied towards Dreamer Sponsorships, programming and scholarships versus Giving Tuesday donations which can only be applied towards College Savings Accounts. Thanks for your support!
Village at the Peaks
Tree Lighting Ceremony
On Saturday, December 5th, join us at Village of the Peaks for its first-ever Tree Lighting Ceremony from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m., with an afternoon full of action-packed festivities.

Santa will come rushing in on Sports Authority skis to ask the children what they want for Christmas.  There will be horse-drawn carriage rides, face painters, interactive ice games, dueling ice-carving demonstrations, a 16-foot Fire and Ice Tower, and a walk-able 12,000 pound ice sculpture in the heart of the village.

There will also be two ways to get entered into a drawing for the sold out first showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at 7 p.m. on December 17th.  Your first chance to win is by casting your vote on the Village of the Peaks Facebook page for a Frosty Ice Village or a Wilderness Winter Village. Your second chance to win is by pre-registering here and bringing a gift for our Dreamers. "I Have a Dream's" wish list includes:

Boulder County Dreamers Meet a Dreamer from Oregon on Field Trip
On a five-day field  trip  to the San Luis Valley with their American History class, eight Boulder County Dreamers met an AmeriCorps member who used to be a Dreamer!

While our Dreamers were serving at the local homeless shelter in Alamosa, a young AmeriCorps member came running up to the "I Have a Dream" bus because he was a Dreamer in Oregon! He told the Dreamers about how much the organization means to him and how special it was to him that the adults from the program stuck by them every single year. He recently graduated from Oregon State University (which happens to be where one of our Dreamers wants to go) and is now serving as an AmeriCorps member in Alamosa.

It was a really special moment for the kids to meet a fellow Dreamer and realize how far-reaching the organization truly is. Guillermo, the Oregon Dreamer, is on the far left.

About the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County
Since 1990, the award-winning "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has assisted 780 children from low-income areas in achieving their education and career goals by providing long-term personal and academic support, tutoring, mentoring and four-year tuition-assistance scholarships to each graduating student.
